Gordon Smith twice stated Rangers had won a world record of league titles and Scottish football would be lost without them !! Archie was shouting for no reason , his hun background shining through . Alex Thomson was easily the best panelist

Yes - but you put it on here ... so accept my thanks!

Thompson was the only one who seemed to apply sensible reasoning to his comments. No surprises from Smith. McGowan said "... the moment Uncle Rupert comes along and says, hang on a moment we're not having this, then the fans opinions will be swept away" - or words to that effect! While he may have read the outlook of Regan and Doncaster correctly, his blinkered view failed to see that if the fans' opinions are swept aside and they decide to boycott SKY as well, then 'Uncle Rupert' won't be interested in any case. Clubs would be suicidal not to listen to their fans.

Pretty much what Timmy Thomson has been saying.

Their capacity to ignore the bloody obvious is incredible.

If Sky don't pay someone else will

There is also an option for televising newcos charge up the leagues

Smith is a fud.....cares not for Scottish football at all....its all about rangers for him

Mc and Mac fear for their readership numbers.....who's to say it won't pick up with a bit more honest journalism?

Thomo could have been any non old firm fan in the street....just common sense

ive heard archie" the doyen " mcpherson expound his new favourite theory a couple of times now, that spl clubs along with their fans didnt vote sevco into the spl due to the terribly selfish reason that it increases their own chances of finishing higher up the table <doh> where to start with that ?

Anyone else think that the clubs have worked out the finances on the sevco situation and maybe they actually make more money sending them to the third.

    Yeah, I know.

Newco go to the third, what happens? All the clubs get newco turning up twice that season and a fair few quid.

Newco go to the second.... You know the rest.

Smith's argument was based around Rangers having won loads of trophies and been in four European finals. Bearing in mind that he is meant to be intelligent, I would have expected a more solid argument from him rather than the "we're dead good so we ur"

I love how Smith tried to create a situation where Rangers were bigger than Real Madrid <laugh>

Why did Rangers get as big as they did?

    Spending money they didn't have

Now they have to pay for it like any other club would

Smith was a ****ing shambles, John Brown made a more reasoned argument than "Rangers have been to 4 European finals".

For ****'s sake, and that prick ran the game for two years <doh>
