In my opinion we don't wanna enter the play offs to soon and have to deal with the pressure of holding on to the spot, much better to slip in at the last minute and chug on with the momentum.
Weighty, our goal difference is not the best and we have to play Burnley away for our penultimate game so I'd say we need to really be ahead of seventh by four points going into that one, afford for it to be cut to one point in that game and then win against Sheffield Wednesday.
I think we can beat Burnley and Wednesday to give us some belief going into the play offs. I'm not saying we should not be trying to win games yet just saying that IMO we want to enter the top six as late as possible.
Burnley could already be promoted before you play them, they may already have 1 eye on next season. Reading are too inconsistent, Wigan are wobbling and Forest have blown it, surely it would be better to get points on the board and put pressure onto the other teams to pickup points to catch you. Think it could be yourselves or Brighton pipping Reading to that last spot.
Points on the board for me. Break into the top 6 and put the pressure on the others. Shame our GD has let us down with all around us not wanting to win either right now the 7/9 last 3 games has been a boost. Personally was banking on all 3 against Forest. Burnley will hopefully be in party mood when we go there and we can get something from that and with vokes looking to be out will just leave ings to nullify. This is gonna be an exciting ride for us blues and at the business end for a change.
Totally agree SD all I'm saying is I think it would be ideal to get in at the last minute and not have the worry of falling out at the last knockings, but if we get in there ASAP and stay there that would be acceptable too
I hope we are tucked away in the play offs B4 last game of the season.......I cant make it, we have a footie tournament in Great Yarmouth that weekend.!
There is absolutely no pressure on us! The media generally dont mention us as playoff contenders and indeed a great example of this was Jeff Stelling last week on Sky mentioned "Playoff contenders Brighton are playing Ipswich". So we definately are under the radar! It is set up for us to sneak into the top 6 just like Palace famously did a few seasons back!
