It would appear that Swansea City are close to snatching polish under 21 goalkeeper Greg Sandomiorski from under Chelsea's noses for a reported £3million. They are also close to signing Sidney Govau from Greek side panathanikos.

So, would young Greg be back up to Dorus, or is he a replacement? Greg has said he doesn't want to move unless he's a first team player. Opinions please.

Govau - Good thing, bad thing? Do we think he suits our play? I'm skeptical.

Where did you get this from?

Surly DDV has to be first choice for us!!!
£3million for a bacup Keeper is really bad business

Govau - could be a good thing

Reported in 3 newspapers this morning. Also been told it was reported on sky news this morning but I didn't see it.

It would be bad business so my guess would be the Dorus is stuttering on the contract and we are looking for a replacement maybe? I hope not, but that's my thinking.

If it is a ploy to get DdV to hurry up and re-sign then I hope to god it doesnt backfire!! Unless we are offering him first choice GK next season then I can't see us trumping Chelsea if they want him.

Ideal situation is DdV re signs and maybe this guy will sign for Chelsea and we can loan him for a season. To echo what has been said £3 million for back up GK seems very steep. Then again iv never seen heard of the guy let alone see him play so if he is better that DdV then sign him up!!

As fit the Govue rumour I think he would be a brilliant signing.

Govou is a tidy player... could he do a job for us? Who knows. I can´t say I know what type of football the last few teams he´s played for play, but with his level of quality you´d expect him to be able to adapt to our system effortlessly?

As for the DDV thing, I still think he´ll sign back on. Dorus, Pratters and Angel were out of contract... I always expected one of three to walk away but I really believe Dorus and Rangel will sign back on.

We all know how good Polish keepers can be but costly as a potential back-up.

Sure I read somewhere that Marcus Hannerman had been released by Wolves, could be a decent experienced option?

We need Dorus to sign a contract IMO! Yes, we can always get somebody new in, but even though he could still improve from crosses, his general goalkeeping skills as well as his football skills make him essential to us! He's been with us for quite some time now, and he's got the blessing of the fans and a good working relationship with our defensive line up - got to get him to sign on the dotted line!

Govou is a good player - it will always depend on wages and signing on fees though.

If DdV wants to play for the Dutch team one day he needs to sign and be our regular number one

He has guaranteed first team football at the Swans...Don't know why he would leave...He has been known to take his time with this contracts....the only down for Dorus, and even then, it's not so much of bad thing to be carefull and check your options.

Really hope he stays & deserves his #1 status ..... BUT , if he decides he'd like to move on , we can get somebody in that's more aerial savvy in his box & take a bit of pressure off the defense . Again , hope he stays .
