I think the only chance (all be it slim) we have to stay in this division is to get Adel off his leash!! He has won plaudits since returning from the Africa Cup Of Nations by working hard and keeping things simple. Well, that's all well and good, but I believe it's time to get him in the final third of the pitch as often as possible for the next 4 games at least. MH plays him left side of midfield in his preferred 4-4-2 and gets him to work back into that position when we lose the ball, letting him go free when we have the ball. I believe that this puts too many shackles on Taarabt. With the thick idiot Cisse missing AGAIN!! I think we should revert to last year's formation, playing 4-2-3-1 and letting Adel run free to try to get the goals and assists to keep us up!! (Not saying it will work....but it's got to be worth a try!!?) My team until HH and Traore are fit (I'd then replace Zamora with HH and put Taiwo left mid, with Traore at LB): ----------------Kenny-------------- Onouha----Ferdinand--Hill-----Taiwo ----------Diakite---Derry----------- Mackie--------Taarabt---------SWP -------------Zamora--------------- Thoughts?
Jesus Col, read the title and thought you meant release him from his contract! I was very critical of him in the autumn, especially after the Spurs game, but have since seen the light ( again) and remembered that it's players like him that I love footy for. With his current attitude he can cock up as often as he likes for a couple of moments of magic every game. Cutting him loose may finally provide the end product we've been begging for and he deserves. Right guys, let's all get behind him so he puts in an awesome performance on Saturday!
Seems a good roll of the dice. Prefer that to DJ. Not sure about Helgs - might be slow as he returns.
Love your post Col and wouldn't be happier if it comes to fruition. As you say what have we got to lose? I would even go one step further and "release" the whole team, gung-ho and go for the win instead of defending until the inevitable happens.
Guys, could we stop using the phrases 'nothing to lose' and 'what have we got to lose' ? Because we have everything to lose. Otherwise everything is chilled and awesome.
That's what I thought as well and thought Col had seen the light! He's been allowed show his class most of the season and he couldn't do it. One of the players to be sold before next seasons Play-Off assault.
This week: Hughes Out - Long Live Col! Next week: Col Out - Long Live Swords! Week after: Swords Out - Long Live... any takers?!!
If there's a void (like the one to be left by Cisse) then you tend to find someone steps up. If that someone is Tarbs then we're in for a barnstorming finish to the season.
I am a great Taarabt fan as you know in fact he is a young unknown Zidane to me ... As the French make the best footballers but People have called for him to knuckle down ... He is in a team that is egg bound so tightly that it is killing him They are all trying so hard they are not relaxing and have no free flow You play your best football relaxed and with a smile on your face This comes naturally with confidence and wins If QPR adopt too much of this get into their faces we will look awful and sink Swans and Arsenals games built entirely on this Adel is a talent because of his relaxed style ... One extra second makes all the difference ... It's called composure It's what makes a player a great player Yet the English idea is to huff and puff And that's why we are generally toilet as a national football team . Guys: more bagels and acerola juice?
This explains why watching QPR has been like watching England this season. We go into every game with a lot of hope and expectation, a good collection of players and think that once we click ........... But it doesn't happen, the players are tense, passing and ball retention becomes non-existent. Cue another frustrating afternoon of football, but like England we do get the ' Every dog has it's day ' game where we do get a great, yet unexpected result.
Unless the defence finds some sort of cohesion and unity it hardly matters what happens in the final third.Anyway, I don't believe MH is the sort of man to encourage free expression in his players at the best of times; in the peril surrounding us, I could see his grey wires fully extending like a pincushion if Adel goes all last year on him.
Adel does seem to have lost his spark under MH, maybe all this tracking back and defending is leaving him too knackered to do what he's best at. I think we are at our best in 4 - 2 -3- 1 as well, but SWP can't play on the left, prefer to have Buz in the middle, Adel on the left, and SWP on the right of attacking midfield. Mackie to come on as super sub! I pefer Gabbi to Anton at CB (particularly against the Gooners, Gabbi has got be a better bet, he tackles and intercepts better on the the floor and is quicker than Anton!), and Cerny to Kenny as well, though MH seems tio unerringly play these 2 however many errors they make each game!
