Salgado claims Blackburn are freezing him out as they can't afford to make the additional payments required to him if he plays.

So time to bid for Samba and Hoilett in January hopefully. I can't believe they'll let Hoilett walk away for free in summer.

I would say so. Rovers,Bolton,Everton and Villa are all in dire dire financial situation. Every player has there price, and its not very much, unlike us where the price has to be ridiculous!!

I would take Samba, Hoillet, Cahill, Holden (when fit),chung yong Lee (When fit),Klasnic and the obvious one's from Villa and Everton.

I guess the way we're financially run is a blessing in disguise when we see the trouble some clubs are in, could easily have been us.

I wonder how much Dann's broken ball is going to impact on any chances of stealing Samba in January? He's out for six weeks, which takes him to the end of January before returning to training.

Defo. For all Ashleys faults we are prob one or two big sales away from him paying off the overdraft we have with him and be technically debt free. I don't want to lose any big players but its the way it is these days unless your owned by a mega rich Arab. Remember also for every Carroll(£35m profit) there is a Ba (free), if Tiote goes i'm sure Carr has a cheaper replacement lined up that will do the business!!!

Nelsen is back the 1st week in Jan so it may not impact it as much as you would think!!

I still don't think we'll ever come close to signing Samba. The second we show a proper intrest Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs will all come scrambling.

I would tend to agree. We do have a knack of doing some transfers under the radar though, hopefully we get 1 of 2 in Jan

He (Ashley) has his faults but guess we were spoiled in the past with all the big money signings. Those days are long gone and with Ashley holding the purse strings running the club how he sees fit is a good thing, wages down is a massive plus point IMO. I fear if Freddy had stayed put we would be down the swanny by now.

If Freddy was still in charge, honestly we'd be a complete mess. Despite all his cock ups, Ashley is one of the best things that could happen to this club at just the right time.

When I first started reading the OP i thought you were suggesting we dive in and sign Salgado for a second there! but seriously i'd love hoilett, rochina or samba.

Samba and Hoilett would make excellent signings. It won't be that simple though as they'll have plenty of suitors which may push the price right up. I'd prefer we sign Samba now and a left back, and somehow persuade Hoilett on the free transfer! Then someone like Sow in the summer to go with him. We'd be getting close to lethal!

If only it was all this easy eh?

Same here. Rochina is class, and a much better RM than Obertan.

Hoilett won't be on a free though. Although he is out of contract he is under 24 and would require a development fee. The fee would be roughly £4mill according to reports!!

Well seriously cheap then because the kid is a 15m man in todays market. Although I think we will struggle to get either him or Samba, a 4m steal of Hoilett would be very typical of Ashley.

Another Blackburn player I wouldn't mind us getting is Jason Lowe. Young, promising full-back, wouldn't cost much, will probably see that if he wants a decent career he needs to leave Ewood Park. Would be excellent cover/competition for Simmo at RB.
