Jurgen Klopp can still surprise everyone as he did many times.

I dont think we will sign a forth choice cb. I dont think its even being looked at. Fab or one of the kids will be asked to fill in.

We've got more than enough cover in midfield to let fab play the whole season in defense if needs be.

This. VVD & Gomez are ther first choice pairing, Matip offers good competition and, although most of us would prefer him in midfield, Fabinho is an excellent fourth choice option.

Although not the same type of player, Thiago can sit at the bottom of that midfield 3 to replace Fabinho if he needed to move into defence as well.

his tackle success and ball recoveries were right up there last year at Bayern so he’s not just decent on the ball either

Fabinho is arguably our best midfielder (after Thiago) and is one of the best DMs in the world. I would prefer to be in midfield than wasted at CB.

Shouldn't this be "Time to look for our defence"?

Our defensive numbers have regressed since the turn of the year. I'm not sure when Matip was out but a big reason is Joe Gomez. He is going through some horrible form.

Not even joking that I would pick Rhys Williams ahead of him currently.

Looks like VvD will be out for a while, leaving us a fragile Matip and an out of form Gomez as our first choice CB pairing.

Fab will be our back up....and then it’s the kids.

appreciate that Not replacing Lovren was calculated but right now, it looks like a big mistake. Fingers crossed that I’m wrong.

A CB pairing of Henderson and Fabinho walks into any team in the country, and most of Europe.

It’s confirmed that VvD has suffered an ACL injury and will be out for 8 month. Pickford will be able to take the pitch next week and embarrass himself again.

We will struggle at the back now....back to rock n roll football

Coming back from injury VVD will not be the same VVD again from experience. We need to sign somene urgently.

This is so ****, for VVD and the club. It's essentially the worst case scenario at the back that we all feared and hoped would never happen, and now it has. I always thought we should've signed a CB in the last window to be prepared for this and we didn't. I just hope others are ready to step up and Klopp and the coaching staff had mitigated for this

We'll just have to revert to out scoring the opposition :1980_boogie_down:
