Match Day Thread Time to look at our defence 2023/2024

There should be overhaul of the present defence at the end of the season. Simon Mignolet must go.

 

Our defence is not a disaster as such;

At home its quite good.

We see to be well able to keep a clean sheet at home and away from home its much harder and we've conceded half our goals in 3 games.

 

panic, lack of concentration and stupidity dog us at the back.

Take out Lovren and that helps imo. but mingolet and the full backs are still issues with concentration and being decisive.

 

And we need better midfielders.

Goretzka Keita and Lemar. That’s a tasty looking midfield.

The issue is that we will have to rotate with Hendo, Gini and Milner.

A few months ago every pundit bastard was banging on about our defence. We took four from Spurs: "Liverpool defence blahdifuckingblah." Spurs took four from City: nada. Every time we leaked a goal: "Ooh, zonal defending, tut tut." They're not tutting anymore. Danny Murphy even got a dig in last week by mentioning man-to-man as they reviewed a goal. Top lad.

It's not perfect but it's progress. Glass half full round our way.

 

Individual error is still our problem. No commanding CB or very good goalkeeper .

burnely is a top half away game that I would be happy to get a draw out of.

we have enough lower half teams coming to Anfield to get the wins along with a few away games.

 

We should go for a win. Maybe Salah is injured?.

 

Should be rested as precaution to be honest, don't want him out for a few weeks.

The goal we conceded against Burnley was preventable, luckily our defenders made up for the error.
