It has sort of amazed me that no one has called upon us pompey fans to demonstrate at the sheer ludicrous decisions week in week out regarding our court case and the valuation of PFC. I would have thought an organised and peaceful lobby of the FL, PFA offices and maybe even the sportsministers office would raise some much needed public opinion as to why we keep getting adjourned? discuss..........
This is the worst bit - the hanging around twiddling your thumbs, seeing inexplicable decisions being made. From what I can see though, the major players around the club, including PST, SOS Pompey etc. all have a lot of contact with each other, so they know what is going on a lot clearer than us. I don't know any of them personally, but I can gather, that if they thought mobilising the troops was going to benefit the bid - they wouldn't hesitate to mobilise us. This is the problem with "light-touch" regulation - the ones who should wield the power sit back to see how it will work out. Anyway, I'm sure you've heard that old saying...... the law is an ass.
I know a fair few fans who have emailed PKF and the PFA to voice their opinions. [email protected] Here's one that a fan directed to Gordan Taylor. Dear Mr Taylor, As somebody I have always had the upmost respect for I am very concerned to read the stories coming out today suggesting that the PFA are trying to block the Portsmouth Supporters Trust bid to take over our football club. This story appears to have been confirmed by our local MP Penny Mordaunt in her question to the prime minister at today’s PMQ’s. I seriously hope this is not the case. You of all people must be aware of the damage done to our club & your members in the past by the unscrupulous (and frankly dodgy) owners in the past who have broken promises to pay creditors & who have taken our proud club to the brink of extinction. Are you seriously now going to support a bid from a group of individuals who are known associates of the previous owner Mr Chanrai? A group that the Football League immediately rejected & who are most unlikely to pass any “fit & proper persons” test. If this is the case I would urge you & your organisation to reconsider. I am sure you would not want to be labelled as the organisation that stopped the biggest supporters community ownership scheme in the country from going ahead, or for being responsible for the inevitable demise & possible extinction of our club in the longer term just so that you (largely well rewarded) members could be paid a little earlier. We are looking at a much bigger picture here & I am confident that you & your organisation will be able to recognise that. Thanks in anticipation of your support. [email protected]
