    Or so they say.

Listen I'm not here to gloat about your current woes, contrary to what the usual rottweilers may think, simply because we could actually find ourselves in a similar position. I was just wondering what the sensible jax think is an acceptable time period to wait until the next manager picks up the reins?

Before anyone asks, if Malky wants out I would want him gone as soon as, and a fresh manager to start the new campaign within weeks. Do you think Huw will act immediately or forestall any new manager deal due to indifference over financial implications?

I would hope an interview or two would be made this week with a view to unveiling the week after. But to be honest as long as we get the right person in they can take as long as they like...the down side to that though is that Siggy deal may depend on who we sign next and if it takes too long he will prob head off to Liverpool!

What do you think the chances of Malky going to Norwich are?

Catch 22 question for me there you cad. :undecided:

I think a lot depends on the restructuring outcome at City. Also it looks as if the Norwich chairman has already implied that there won't be much spending money next year. Therefore I would think a possible promotion on Malky's CV would look better than a possible relegation, but who knows?

Naturally i think most of us would like a new manager in post as soon as, however there's no need for a rushed appointment and overall wouldn't mind HJ taking a week or so if it means finding the right manager to take us up to the next level. this is more important than appointing hastily to secure siggys signature. siggy's connections are stronger with BR than they are swansea so the siggy transfer will come down to how much he enjoyed playing with the swans and how realistic he is about getting game time at liverpool. but if he decides against joining us we move on, as a club we're solvent and we have a nice little kitty to strengthen.

I'd rather get someone in sooner rather than later to get players in and start the new training etc... But Im not exactly lit up by the managers being touted at the moment either. Poyet for me, the rest I'm fairly unsure of.

A good experienced gaffa won't take long to work with and get the best out of a squad ,the wrong choice will never do it, so i would take my time within reason and hopefully get the right guy and we have still got Curt to keep things ticking over

I think experience is the watch word here. The biggest obstacle with bringing in a big name is the fact an experienced modern manager generally comes with several other trusted generals. Poyet would be a good shout, but most of your Rodgers profit would be absorbed in such a deal with Brighton who have him tied to a lengthy deal.

thats a good enough reason not to panic buy..lets just see who applies for it first, that usually throws up a few surprises

Poyet would cost us a lot less than £7M! I'm actually warming to the idea of Laudrup, though someone's now mentioned Cocu so that's interesting. Anyone but Jones or Malky.

I just noticed that Marcel Desailly's name has hurtled into Skybet's odds in 5th position. Don't want that; don't think he has any management experience. Still Laudrup or Poyet for me. There's a lot of solid, unheard of (to us) talent in Scandie (Denmark, Norway, Sweden and perhaps Iceland) football that would rush to join Laudrup.

BY THE WAY, HUW, HE IS UNATTACHED SO HE WOULD BE FREE!! Not saying he would be cheap, though.

    had to be asked lol!

I dont know about Norwich looking at relegation next season tbh, but saying that they need a manager who will be able to replace Holt's goals, does Malky have the ability/links/knowhow (whatever you want to call it) to do so on what may need to be on the cheap if as you have suggested the money wont be there? But then again it is a chance to manage in the premier league so would he be able to say no?

Worse case scenario for him would then be next season it turns out that you end up low/mid table, can only imagine the Malaysians owners would be looking to get rid of him for failing to have you in the top 6 and he would never get the chance to manage in the premier league again?

I wouldn't count your chickens there, if or when a firm offer comes in for him and you don't get promoted he will take flight!

My only issue with that is he came out with it several hours after Norwich basically ruled him out of the running

Implying that we will not get promoted is a bit like me saying you will get relegated. All a bit premature m8.

I agree very rare but IMO I'd take this with a pinch of salt as Martinez "has to be dragged out as a player and will have to be dragged out as a manager" and Brendan "wasnt going to run out on the swans as we gave him a chance when no one would touch him" and he had "a big plan" for the swans. Dont get me wrong, now the dust has settled you cant really blame him for going but these loyalty snippets are becoming as much of a red flag to fans as the "chairman gives the manager a vote of confidence" headlines which invariably lead to the manager getting fired within the month!! Saying that though Norwich have said they want someone with a bit more experience so it looks like he is staying with you....for now lol

Time is of the essence and we need to sort out the situation asap. Having said that if we get a great manager after a delay I will settle for that <ok>
