Over the past few days we have seen the gossip start to crank up with names like Hester, Owen and even Gyan.

Now we all know that its gossip, we wont know who until we see wee Davie tell us but we do know a few things.

We know we are in trouble.
We know we don't have millions upon millions, well no, we don't do we.
We know that we have a new manager.
We know that the mangers job in January will be to get the players in to save our season.

We also know that we fans are rubbish at keeping faith, not saying who the **** is he and just trusting, its not in a football fans nature.

We also know that there are those around, very near, just waiting to pounce and laugh.

I remind you of Welbeck, Bramble and Brown, just three players who many of us said,”who” when we signed them, all exceeded expectation.

If we truly believe that MON is our best chance of any success then we have to block out those around who doubt and just simply have faith that he knows best, never an easy thing for us to accept.

Martin O'Neil will already know what is needed to ressurect our season. If rumours are true and he was propositioned for the job 2 months ago then for sure, he will have been doing his homework. He was seen in the stands at the Emirates taking notes and other grounds also, he'll also have been keeping an eye on our performances as well so he will know what is required.

We can only speculate cos he looks like a man who keeps things close to his chest, we will only find out when it's announced by the club or "wee Davie"

You say that we don't have millions upon millions Syd? from what i've heard, Ellis has big ambitions for the club and that costs money, lots of money. If, or should i say "when" MON turns it round and we see steady improvement and a climb up the table, then i think Ellis will be prepared to back him. He has to if he wants us to succeed. You can survive on a shoe string like Everton & Fulham have, but you'll never make that next step, not without investment.

So many teams look better organised - we have looked like headless chickens a lot of the time. I anticipate and look forward to a bit more on-field structure to our play

I agree with you both and I'm sure Short is here to back success. Its the January window that I'm thinking of, dont see MON doing a Keane or a Bruce and just buyinhg numbers hoping some work. Neither do I see big money risks, for me it could well be the Heskey type, not saying Heskey himself but a tried and tested pro who MON knows will do the job.

I know we would all like a few world beaters and who knows, we may get them but January is all about getting us up the table, summer is about pushing on.

He rarely buys "world beaters" he buys decent players then transforms them into world beaters.
