BBC SPORT interviewing Brendan Guilfoyle were told by him that...........the Football League need more information on who the preferred bidder is. Mr Guilfoyle said that at times it is embarrassing not knowing himself but only a little. The preferred bidder eased some of the pressure on themselves when Peter Ridsdale was named as Argyles owner, but the F L have now asked for more information. Mr Guilfoyle said that he thinks things are on track for the end of the month, reminding us that the preferred bidder sign a fortnight later than he did, after various things were soughted out. The next milestone is very soon when the next exclusivity payment is due............ Listening to Guilfoyle being interviewed didn't fill me with confidence that everything was done and dusted, made me a little nervous that even at this late stage things could still go belly-up. We've just got to hang in there and hope things will change for the better by the end of June.
Hang in there plym, we will know soon enough one way or the other. They are in control and we just have to sit and wait for now.
Interesting comment by Brendan Guilfoyle in his BBC sport interview yesterday (13th)..................Suggesting that Argyle fans should have been supporting Huddersfield in the play off Final. Without actually saying it, he was hinting possibly that regarding PAFC's available finances for the 2011/12 season it would have benefitted them for Huddersfield to be promoted. Meaning that they would have kept Damien Johnson, on loan or actually buying I'm not sure. This suggests as we have guessed that Johnson is on a very lucrative salary, off loading him would have given us extra money to spend on other more important things. This just highlights how out of control PAFC were last summer, enticing a player we obviously could never afford with high wages, This means that moving on that player becomes very difficult because of their high pay packet, other clubs say no thankyou. Then with the start of the season only two days away a stroke of luck, Huddersfield take him on loan. So never ever playing a league match he's gone, only to pick up a season ending injury, surely thats not what they mean when they say......the luck of the irish. Buying a player we could never ever afford, how crazy it was before the ceiling fell in..........the rest is history........etc.....etc.......
That's nothing, there was talk of signing Glen Whelan wasn't there? He's still turning out for Stoke. Still, the thing is that had money been spent more effectively during that period, maybe we wouldn't have been relegated, the finances wouldn't have dried up............ We are where we are, onward & upward [we hope].
