Well played Arsenal Sat, best side won.

But according to Poll and Szczesny, the Guns should have gone down to 10.

And Poll makes an interesting point: 'What has always baffled me with the denial of a goalscoring opportunity is that when a player is brought down by the last defender and only has the keeper to beat, the defender is dismissed. But when the keeper is off his line and there is a defender present, a yellow card is shown.'

So QPR had a keeper Cech (and poss Terry) to beat who can use hands and feet and Bosi got a red.

Chelsea had a defender to beat on the goal line v Arsenal and the keeper gets a yellow.

    What do you think?

    Very good points <ok>

Baffled me why he only got a yellow, it seemed the assistant had a massive influence as Marriner looked like he was ready to send chesney off but looked back and changed his mind.

Have to say though, there must be some exceptions. Imagine Terry caught up with RVP on Saturday after he'd slipped and then cropped him when 1v1, it would have to be a red.

Agreed, good point especially as beating an outfield player on the line is a lot easier than a goalkeeper so if anything, the rule should be reversed.

Arsenal probably deserved it Saturday but some calls going against us (as well as poor defending) has potentially cost us against United, QPR and Arsenal already this year.

Doing something for consistency and based on logic is too much to ask of the FA.

I felt Marriner was good on Saturday apart from the Chesney card, bad linesmen cost us United aswell as Torres' sitter and QPR... well Foy was just a two bob ****.

Can't stand the bloke, but he gets it right sometimes and this is one of those times.

The only way to stop this, is incident replays for the ref, as they have in cricket! But thats a debate that will go on into the next century!

I was referring to Graham Poll.
I probably should've made that clearer.

Switch the positions of the defender and keeper and the card's a red.
Surely having a shot with only a defender to beat is easier than only having the keeper to beat?

I don't think that the ref got much wrong in your game against QPR, though.
Bosingwa prevented a clear goalscoring opportunity, the penalty was a very naive barge in the back despite the way that it was milked and Drogba dived in with both feet, with studs showing.

Penalty and Drogba was nailed on, not so sure about Bosingwa though...having said that there was far more that Foy missed but sod it, it's history now<ok>

No complaints with drogba, pen was 50/50 though arguably a dive and no more a pen than the 2 shouts we had in the second half.

Bos' sending off was a joke though. Everytime I see it I struggle to even see a foul. Just two blokes falling into each other on a 50/50.

Bosingwa clearly has hold of SWP's shorts.
There was a bit of tussling, but that's just poor decision making by the defender.
If it's seen, then he's going to be in the **** and it was.

To be fair to the midget, he just tried to get on with it.

That would take some imagination. Especially as he was doing his favourite thing, munching carpet!

Had Malouda put the ball to his feet he wouldn't have had to do anything other than hoof it up the wing. <grr>

Yeah, that was a very poor decision, followed by an even worse pass.
