So there are some of us out there who are not happy with the last 2 results and have indicated such in recent postings. The reality is that there is no magic wand or miracles available in this business so it's time to get used to the facts of life. Our team has had to suffer fools and mis-management for several years and finally we have a manager at the helm who most of us believe will get the job done. The rest of this season is all about consolidation and rebuilding for next year, so why don't we all accept that we won't win every game and settle down and give DM all the support and positive comments that he needs. I am a DM believer and it would be nice if some of the usual detractors got off their high horses and came back down to earth. We, and DM, need time to put the past behind us so that we can get back to respectability, which surely is the only criteria that should satisfy all the doubters.
Mike I think I'm correct in saying that all of us on here are all firm believers in DM and that's without doubt Against Boro we were robbed of a deserved point by a cheating/diving git and a great free kick sealed the result. Yesterday DM is saying we should have closed the game down and shut up shop having taken the lead but we didn't. This league is so very close it's virtually impossible to predict results, but after a good run following the Birmingham defeat we've now suffered 2 consecutive reverses and the Forest game is huge for us and them. They are on a really bad run and we simply have to beat them, because the fixtures don't get any easier after Xmas. As I've stated elsewhere I feel we need to go to Coventry and get 3 points there too.
9 games played W4....D2....L3....Points Achieved....14....GF....12....GA....10.... Anybody that wants to be critical of Del and Doc compared to our last manager needs to be treated,medically..... Up the City....
DM keeps taking Cisse off at vital points in games, unless there is a specific reason for this I don't understand? I would have thought pulling one of the more 'creative' players would have been better considering our league position. He says on player we need to see games out. Derby hadn't up to that point, had a shot on target.
Firstly let me get the bad thoughts out of the way; This season is a case of deja vu and mirrors last season it is becoming uncanny! 1st home game 0-3 Lost League cup to 4th Div opposition Change of manager 1st home win last year 19th Oct - followed by 20 points in next 9 games This season 5th Nov - 14 points in 6 games after (and incl) away win at Barnsley Now two games into December ; 2010-11 19th place 26 points W7 D5 scored 24 2011-2012 ; 21st place 20 points W5 D5 scored 21 So the initial McInnes "feel good factor" has lifted us but the horrible inconsistency appears to be continuing, the awful fact that we seem unable to defend a one goal lead for longer than 5 minutes. Good thoughts? I really believe that McInnes has much more nous about tactics than Millen and while we appear to be in a much worse position than last year, I am confident he will turn us around. But one more word of warning; I first saw City at home to Forest in 1951; 0-3. Then again in 1955 ; 1-5. An almost endless succession of defeats except for 2 consecutive years 1973 and 74 when won two games 1-0 with big Paul Cheesley goals. Please please please the score be repeated this coming Saturday.
Cisse has been a regular starter for the last 6 matches, if he is not yet fit then he should be! Some managers try to get all the squad as much football as possible, its good for morale etc. But for me, sometimes you need to just leave it! A def mid like Cisse is a key player to take off and we don't really have a like for like, thats twice now Cisse has come off and the midfield falls apart. Sorry, but its just how I am seeing it!
Banksy Tend to agree with you. Millen's biggest howler was leaving Cisse out altogether. He certainly seems to be one of our most important players, because our central defence lacks presence and quality. If we had a Tony Adams in the center we could afford to employ a 442 with 3 ball players in midfield, but to do so now would court disaster. I am sure McInnes will twig it, and maybe that will be reflected in his January deals. But could there be something about Cisse which we dont know about ?
