I remember Bobby Robson signing him when he was 16 years old and watching his debut against Palermo away. Anyone think he'll choose to stay his whole career and we never sell him. I would be devastated if we got rid. IMO, he's been our most valued player of the season by far. He's had match winning performances and kept us in the game with his saves.

I remember that night well (well, kind of).
I was in hospital and watched the game through a haze of morphine.
I remember asking the nurse to double check the score on the screen as I thought I was halucinating as I saw a European class keeper playing for us and us winning away in Europe for the first time in yonks...

Them playing in pink can't have helped much either I would imagine, quite fancy some morphine when watching a game, or playing in one........

I think it was Souness who signed him to be honest. Scouted under Bobby's reign though.
