With apologies for the typo of his surname in the Thread Title but, it appears as though Tim Hoogland is at the crossroads of his Fulham career.

“Kit Symons has yet to decide whether to offer the German defender and holding midfielder a new one-year contract or let him go over the next month.

The 29-year-old lost his pony tail soon after joining Whites last summer, and then a chance to cement a first-team spot when he required a hernia operation injury in December. However, unlike the majority of sacked boss Felix Magath’s summer signings, Hoogland fought back to regain his place and leave Symons with plenty to ponder. He said: “Tim’s shown his versatility by playing in a few different positions. He’s had good bits, average bits, and poor bits - a bit like us last season. Physically, he’s decent which is important for the Championship, so of late he did well bearing in mind he was out a long while with an injury, frustrating for him and us.”

Personally … I’d let him go. He’s scored some useful goals but defensively he’s woeful and I don’t think he’s got the stamina for a full Championship season.

The negatives with Hoogland were he played poorly at Right-back, and was too slow, always beaten by a quick winger or FB over-lapping, and we lost goals late in the game as his stamina was questionable, and his head dropped when we went a few goals down and he stopped trying.
The positives he played better as a defensive midfielder, and come up with a few goals which is always good to have in your locker. His passing, tackling and distribution was probably better than Parkers.
The criteria as to whether to keep him would be, a) do we have anyone lined up in the transfer market who is better, Is Guthrie an alternative b) Is Hyndman better than Hoogland now or does he need another season, I'd put Hyndman in before Hoogland.

Why keep fluffing about with who will go or stay from players who are less than average,
and that includes the manager a good clear out required,
and lets hear some ambitious statement from our chairman.

That's the first time the verb 'fluffing' has been used in this forum. The verb 'to fluff' is an old Saxon saying that means to arse about, bloody delay, not get an effin move on!

I think it's pretty reasonable to assume that kunye aka roscafre is not a fluffer.
