Anyone else in foreign fields experienced this problem ? Couldn't get the audio commentary tonight - the Fulham (A) game. Have been trading e-mails with [email protected] throughout the match. They gave the usual bulls... about "check your browser version" & "clear your cache", despite me mentioning that I had received a strange e-mail a few days ago saying that they had cancelled my subscription ON MY REQUEST. That is rubbish as I had done no such thing. I had told them that I could log-in to the site, and have watched videos in the last couple of days on the site. After a number of exchanges , and a reminder, they checked my account status. It shows a payment for August, and a reversal of that payment a few days later after the Viking cock-up with the first match (Villa way), which they published was compensation (a month's free subscription) for the inconvenience. My conclusion is that yet again the Allams are doing this Viking deal on the cheap (surprise, surprise) and as usual are not on top of a customer service issues. I'm amazed they have had any success in business with this lack of concern for customers. Any other ex-pats had had the same problem ? tc ps. Managed to get the audio on TalkSport 2 through my VPN set-up however. Young kids on the cheap - Sluts must be tearing his hair out !
Mine has been OK in Jordan the last couple of games. Log in on the website have to dig about a bit to find the page though. ***an seemed OK too.
If I were you I'd just cancel your subscription and pay to watch a live stream of the game through the opposition's website every week for generally £5 a time.
Update: After numerous e-mails & phone calls I finally received this from "hulltigers.com" a couple of hours ago. "Apologies for the issues you’ve had with our commentary services. It’s a new system to us all and it has admittedly had some teething issues with regards to the stream and payment. All issues have hopefully been solved now and our system will be stable for the rest of the season. I emailed on the 6th with regards to your account status. Basically, there was an error at backend on all accounts that were refunded due to our streams not working in the first two games of the season. These accounts essentially stopped renewing their subscriptions monthly. As a result, yours and many other members monthly subscriptions had to be cancelled. This is solved now and all new accounts should renew as they are meant to. You are free to re subscribe either monthly or seasonal. If you wish to subscribe seasonal (£40 currently), I can offer 10% off in refund after you purchase. If you have any other issues or questions with regard to our commentary streaming feel free to get in touch and I’ll help out where I can. Cheers," The lessons from this for them should be obvious: (1) Test new systems before releasing them into production. (2) When communicating with customers make sure you clearly explain the problem and the solution(s). I have wasted probably 5 or 6 hours of my time trying to get to the bottom of this issue. The discount is probably a reasonable gesture, but customer service needs to be spruced up somewhat. Should I hold my breath ? Professionalism. What's that other than a reflection of the top brass ?
At long last I have managed to register for the audio commentary after numerous attempts and e mails to the club. I have opted for the monthly service,as I took out an annual sub to Tiger player last February £37.only for the service to cease in May.A request for a refund of the eight unused months to the club by e mail was never answered. Anybody else have same problem ?
Without doubt, with this club go for a monthly subscription. There seems to be a culture (obviously emanating from the top) that refuses to acknowledge that customers need to be treated with respect and fairness. When I finally got hold of someone today ( in the press office) after a brief conversation on the phone he managed to sort out my problem (described in a couple of posts above). (nb. I say that now, but will I actually get to hear the live commentary tomorrow ? We'll see). p.m. me after the game tomorrow & I'll send you the e-mail addresses of the 2 individuals at City who helped me, and you may try to contact them to try to get back your missing credit from TigerPlayer subscriptions that disappeared without notice to you from the club. That is shabby treatment. I'll also give you the contact phone number of the press office guy. In all honesty, I have never seen such a basket-case of an organization in all my 40 years in the business world. edit: I'm no expert on contract law in the UK - (I've been living abroad for over 45 years), but I would imagine that if you signed up for a years subscription for TigerPlayer, you should be entitled to a refund if they pulled the plug (switching to TigersTV) mid contract. I was a TigersPlayer subscriber and had the same concerns, but being on a monthly payment option was pleasantly surprised when they stopped billing me through paypal/my credit card at the end of last season. I had sent them e-mails to find out if that would happen, likewise, no response, but it did happen. I'd threaten them with legal action if you're brave enough to want to recover the shortfall - but it's likely they are banking that no-one would attempt that for such a small amount.
Never settle for the first offer. Go back with 20% and tell them they've got a deal. Make them jump through hoops. And once they have, tell them Allam can **** off if he thinks he's getting a penny off you, and you'll pay other clubs to watch their live video instead. Everyone's a winner
I gave up on them TC. I received an email saying I had cancelled my subscription (I never did). As you say this organization is a basket-case. A sad turn of events because some of the Viking commentary...Brian Hughes in particular...had been far better than the Humberside crap that we had to endure in recent seasons.
CT - by any chance, did you get a month's credit from them after the fiasco with the non-broadcast of the Villa game ? That was the reason (I had received credit after a bit of argy bargy with them) they gave me for them automatically cancelling my membership. If you didn't, I'd like to know as I'm looking for evidence to nail them for misleading statements. I obviously will not mention your name (not that I know it anyway) in any campaign I may follow up with in the future with the press. They need to be brought to task on this poor set-up. Cheers
Rhys @RhysPeachMedia So that's a new one. Hull City taking me to court for an un paid membership for June and July. Shame it finished in March #hcafc
This ^^^^^^ Don't give those 2 any cash if you don't need to. They are taking every single penny out of the club that they can...
Yes I did get a months credit TC. But then I got a snippy little cancellation letter. After that it finally dawned on me that they were clueless and I've decided not to bother with the whole set up. No more MOTM votes from me.
It's very sad. But now with performances matching the ****s in charge it's going to get really ugly over the next few months. Everybody has had enough.
And there's nobody that could convince me that this is how Ehab wants it to be. Been uppermost in his mind since getting booed at Wembley IMO.
For Tigerscanada. Actually managed at long last to hear the live commentary. Thanks for your info and advice. Will be firing e mails at the club re.Tiger Player. Thanks.
After listening to the commentary on the QPR match I decided not to bother anymore, the commentator sounded delighted when QPR scored the winner
