Apparently we are "keeping tabs" on Reading goalkeeper Ben Hamer. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_6819915,00.html On loan at Exeter at the minute, but has earned rave reviews down there. One of my close friends is a Grecians fan and he rates him very highly, but said that Exeter apparently have first option to buy should Reading want him to leave. What that means is that they can only make an offer while he is on loan there and likewise we can't make an offer until his loan finishes. Unlike James Chester, where Carlisle didn't have a first option clause and therefore we could buy him while he was still on loan there.
i really dont think the first option clause will be a problem, if he knows that we are going to make an offer i doubt he'll accept one from them
Doesn't a first option clause just mean if we offer ã500k (for example) Exeter are given the option of matching the bid and a period of exclusivity before we're allowed to discuss terms with him?
