One company in India is the world's biggest vaccine manufacturer, but they're nowhere near being able to keep up with demand for the COVID vaccine in India at the moment.
More than 11 million people in the UK have now had both doses of a coronavirus vaccine, new figures show. Some 416,784 had their second jab yesterday, meaning 11,192,601 have received both shots. 117,909 people had their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, taking the UK's total to 33,257,651. It comes as the UK has reported a further 18 coronavirus-related deaths and 2,729 new cases in the latest 24-hour period. Hull vaccinations - Under 49 - 31.9% / Over 50 - 97.3% East Riding vaccinations - Under 49 - 34.5% / Over 50 - 96.7%
Not really anything to do with this thread, but brilliant news all the same - World's most effective malaria vaccine has been developed in UK. It's the first ever malaria vaccine to achieve the World Health Organisation-specified 75% efficacy goal.
Just noticed it’s the one year anniversary of Donald Trump suggesting that injecting people with bleach might be worth a try to sort Covid out...
Doh. Maths fail. I can confirm double decker Rovrum away Easter Monday 1981. BR did the dirty at the last minute with the FootEx so all hands on the double decker. Trojan Horse does not do it justice.
Pah, March 1984 Walsall away, 25 on the coach outside of YEB was not enough to run it. All Dennis Taylor had was a 12 seat minibus, and we crammed on it until the police stopped it about twenty miles from Walsall. Two trips to Walsall and the first lot that stayed on had to make their own way back to Hull. The first and last time I travelled with the 'stiffs', thankfully only one way!
More good news. Unfortunately a religious festival in India was deemed more important than keeping safe. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-56844220
Just checked the dates and that was a night match, our journey was on a Saturday, with ice on the ground, (not good for road handling with a 'full' minibus) so it would have been February 1981. I'm older than I bleedin' thought!
The dayly death count is incredibly low now, which is great, is it time to accelerate ending restrictions to aid businesses more?
