Surprised nobody has done a thread about this already. So i'll have a go...

Liverpool Football Club has informed supporters about ticket prices for the 2011/2012 season.

Season tickets will go up by 6.5%. (The same price rise as the Arsenal) That does include the 2.5% increase in V.A.T in January. So, in effect, a 4% rise by the club. This could be without Europa League football next season. So there could be an increase for less games. (Depending on domestic cup runs.) The lowest price will be £725 in the Kop and the highest price will be £802 in the Centenary and Main stands.

Matchdays tickets have increase by £1 in the Kop and £2 for the other stands. This puts the most expensive tickets £48 for the bigger games (Manchester United, Everton, Chelsea etc.) and £39 for the so called 'lesser games' (West Brom, Wigan, Blackburn etc.)

On a better note, the club has decided to reduce the ticket prices for juniors by £8 to £15 for all games regardless of what game it is. This is to make sure that the new generation of fans are enticed to watch Liverpool F.C.

Managing Director, Ian Ayre, said: "We have taken a considered view on these prices, taking into account the state of the economy, our ability to compete in a competitive football market and our aspirations for the 2011-12 season. Liverpool Football Club is facing growing levels of inflation which increases the cost of goods and services to the Club, as much as any other business. The CPI rate of inflation is currently standing at 4.5% and taking this into account we aimed to align the rise in match day tickets closely to this level only.

"In the case of season tickets, we have also added the revised rate of VAT set by the government which came into force in January 2011 which is an increase of 2.5% since we last issued season tickets in 2010.

"We believe that this rise represents the fairest level of increase we could offer, whilst helping to ensure we maintain our significantly reduced debt position and our aspirations to improve our playing squad. We believe this will allow us to be competitive and maintain our ability to challenge our main competitors, many of whom have significantly higher capacities at this time."

I like the reduction for the kids as I always take my son, so what I pay overall is less. The price of going to a game is very expensive though as I have to pay for travel aswell.
