ANOTHER moan, however, I CANNOT get my head around how the club can contemplate the cheapest tickets for Leeds being a RIDICULOUS £32. That is in POOR viewing areas of the stadium, with many more costing £37 etc. Add to this they go up by £2.50 on the day, and this is frankly laughable.

While the relatively well priced Millwall tickets ( starting at £21 ) returned a laughable attendance, this is surely going to put people off going.

I cannot see how the hell the club can justify these very very arrogant and very out of kilter prices we are charging. It doesn't hugely effect me, as I live in Bristol, but I am absolutely appalled by this.

I understand the Norwich game is always going to cost a bit more. I understand when Newcastle/ West Ham were down the club thought charging a bit more would be worthwhile. I guess I can ( sadly ) see the club using the Leeds name more. However, there is going to be more than one game at this (A) pricing structure throughout the season. Against what other clubs will we completely rip everyone off? Nottingham Forest? I suppose the club will decide the Yeovil game is a good game to do a promotion.

I personally think a flat rate of £20 for the cheapest, ranging to perhaps ( and I still think this is a lot ) £30 for ALL games would be a far more sensible option from the club.

We are more expensive than a lot of Premiership teams - granted they have the £££££. However, with season ticket sales down to 12,000, we really do need to not price the casual fan out of entering Portman Road.

I would write a letter to the club moaning about it, however will be treated to a load of drivel like the last letter I sent.

For me it's a massive shame that we're starting to get things right on the pitch, however off it, we are frankly embarrassing.

It's just about the club making money. As you say the Millwall game was cheap but still only got a 17k people turn up. We may not like it but every time ticket prices get reduced there isn't a significant rise in attendance to make it financially viable for the club.

Completely agree, the ticket pricing has been my major gripe during the ME era that and the appointment of Keane. But it's just stupid and I think puts people off going.

Why can't they just have the same prices all season with the odd ticket promotion. This whole having different prices for different games does my nut in and probably puts alot of people going just on the whim.

" Why can't they just have the same prices all season with the odd ticket promotion. " Completely agree! Not hard is it....

I know exactly what you are saying Wright, however for me, this is simply going waaaaaayyyyyyy too far. To charge people £32 minimum to watch a championship game of football is absolutely embarrassing. I actually hope people do not go to the game at that price, it is simply way too much.

In Germany, they have a MAXIMUM ticket price clubs can charge others. Bundusliga tickets are usually 20-25 euros a pop, cheap as hell. My friend went to Hertha Berlin the other year, the club hadn't sold out before match day. So what did the club do, charge MORE money on the day of the match?
No, they are German, and German's frankly have a brain. They reduced the price of the ticket from 16 to 10 Euros i think, and more people came on the day of the match.

Dortmund v Schalke is one of the biggest football derby's in European football. The other year, Schalke attempted to charge Dortmund 25 euros, that is only 5 euros more than the agreed amount. However, the Dortmund fans refused to pay the extra amount out of principle, and they send back half their allocation. Incredible. I cannot imagine that happening over here.....!

That would be fantastic no denying that!

I think if the team start performing well and there is a buzz about the place then THAT is the time a ticket promotion would bring a significantly larger crowd in - and perhaps get them hooked! Until then they will keep prices high so only the diehard fans will attend.

Obviously they won't do that though, if the team does well they will keep prices high and treat every game as a category A!

Those special deals for young ‘uns if accompanied by an adult always put a few thousand on the gate.

If a season ticket gives you effectively a couple of games free, perhaps it isn’t beyond the wit of ME’s henchmen to arrange a free / half price or whatever ticket once the casual attendee had notched up x number of games.

Something needs doing, and it wants doing badly. I feel hard done by to be completely honest with an away ticket costing anything over £25.

The easy solution, is now clubs have barcode scanners, just buy kids tickets. Stewards never check, bang in you go. Sorted..........!

In all seriousness though, our attendances are majorly on the slide. While we can agree success will GUARANTEE bums on seats, I think there is only so much people are willing to pay too.

Real Madrid v Real Betis 20 euros for non members, or Leeds v Ipswich Town for £32?

I am absolutely appalled by our club at times. Disgrace. Tickets at this level should cost a lot less.

They are literally going to have to do something in the next two/ three years, our average gate is down from 22000 to 17000 in seven years. Continue to struggle, and we'll be pulling in 14000 before long!

But 17000 wasn't too shabby against the wallies. No doubt they only brought a bus full. Leeds will bring as many as you let in. We are not famous anymore you know.

That raises another issue. The most we give fans for a league game is 2000. Ground holds 30,000, at a push for a big game we'd now sell 25,000 if cheap. Why not give away fans more, up to say 4,000?

Reading would have allowed us 4,500 if necessary, QPR would have given us 3,100, but we declined the lower tier and are taking 1,800. Why can we not accomodate more away fans, it's not as if the ground is ever remotely full...!

Westlake, I think from the past we normally give the away teams an initial amount of tickets which can be reviewed if they sell out. Pretty sure i remember the next block of seats being given over away fans in the past (although that could be my dodgy memory)

    No, pretty sure we don't.

We give the upper tier to start with, then extent to 2,000 with lower. We don't offer more sadly.

LOADS of tickets sold at the outrageous £32 for Leeds - o wait, that's a lie!

Friend of mine Stoke season ticket holder, told me they asked premier league clubs to cap away tickets at £20 due to travel costs etc.All refused so Stoke are paying for free coach travel to every game for their fans. What a pity no one else put fans first because without us there would be no football league's.

Stoke is a very poor part of the country and they play the most abysmal and monotonous football in the premier league.

That is why Stoke have had to pay the away travel for their fans.

    Newcastle fan in peace.

This is exactly why my husband and I aren't going to this game. We live a few miles out of Ipswich and try to get to the odd game, Ipswich being our nearest team. We picked the Leeds game, but when I checked out the prices, we decided against it.

I enjoy watching a game of football from somewhere other than the comfort of my own home, but at those prices .... :(

Good luck this season - always keep an eye out for Ipswich's results :emoticon-0100-smile.
