Whilst preparing for a rare pilgrimage to Priestfield this Saturday I had a look at the official website and found that there is an offer of tickets for £10 for adults and £5 for juniors for the matches against Bradford and Bristol Rovers (17th December). http://www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/page/TicketNews/0,,10416~2487251,00.html So that'll make a useful contribution to the fuel cost, though I'm afraid not enough to tempt me down again in December. Hope the season ticket holders don't get too upset, and looking forward to seeing a full-ish ground on Saturday.
As a season ticket holder, I have no issues with the current offer. Although I'm not sure what it will add to the gate, in November, one month a way from Christmas, it might maintain the current average attendance but may not be an increased one. Maybe fans could say on here, whether they have taken up the offer?
There are 4 of my mates that aren't really even Gills fans that will be coming with me, as well as my Dad who has been a less frequent visitor as the years have passed. Quite encouraging but they will highly unlikely return for another game. Any extra revenue from it is welcomed though!
I'm taking a Norwich fan to the Bradford game. He now lives in Faversham and the Gills are now his second team. So there will be 2 extras on Saturday. As to whether the offer has influenced our decision to go, well no it hasn't but it is very welcome in the lead up to Christmas.
lets see how many extra supporters we see. We would normally get around 5000 so would need around extra 2000 to break even.
I'm flying over for it. The tenner is a bonus as wax coming over anyway. Hoping it will mean a 6k crowd though!
There was 4,321, which is a shame, I would have been one of them but I am unwell at the moment, I am going Saturday though, illness will not stop me.
Hoadie - where you sitting? I'll be in the Cricketers Saturday, so if any one wants to meet up with an oldie for a beer, feel more than welcome, I'll be with my lad
