http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/24606/ticket-promotion-for-wigan-game Apparently this offer is " the first of a number of ticketing initiatives the club plan for the remaining games this season. " It's a start, and something at least. I wonder what other offers the club will come up with? Our usual silver card holder bringing four for a tenner? Decent time to get these going around though, with this season to date having been a success and season tickets needing renewing/ new members attracted for next season.
A lot of people like to make a decision late on going to the game, can never understand why they charge £2. 50 extra on the day, must lose a lot of sales like that, they would probably come up with the excuse that its for administration
I am far more annoyed about the fact that they have closed the Matchday ticket hotline and now you have to book tickets on the poxy website!
the £2.50 thing definately needs to stop, just think how many local clubs in the past onth have had their games called off, some of them might have wanted to do a bit of a social thing and all go to watch Ipswich at the last minute.
Rather than having offers I think they should just lower the ticket prices over a season get rid of this grading of matches, as I've said before most people go to matches not because of an offer but because it's at a convenient time for them but can easily be put off by high prices, then they won't bother even looking again. It's that extra bit of effort required for those who aren't hardcore supporters and will put them off. I think more people would go if they knew roughly what they were going to pay each match
This A B C hasn't achieved what the club wanted it to. I'm not for ' grading ' opposition at all, however I think in the Premierleague clubs can easily get away with it. Sadly, more people will want to watch Man Utd/ Chelsea at home than Stoke / Bolton / us etc. However in this league, I don't really see how we do it bar if Norwich were in the division people would happily pay that bit more. I guess West Ham/ Leeds and Newcastle would fit into this bracket too? I guess the club do have to employ people to work Saturdays, we're not the first club to charge more on match days however I don't think it's a particularly customer friendly idea. My friend went to see Hertha Berlin in the Bundusliga a couple of years ago. Tickets in advance were 20 euros. The club didn't sell out, he went on the day to buy two tickets. They'd REDUCED them to 14 euros. I think we're tied in with the amount of ' special offers ' we can do per season. I'm just curious to see what the club have in store for the rest of the season.
Just saw this on TWTD. No grade A games for the rest of the season Blackpool C Birmingham B Wigan C Derby C Forest B Doncaster B Bournemouth B Sheffield Wednesday C That's a start. Good of the club in particular to have the final game with Sheffield Wednesday in the cheap bracket also.
