I’m one of the older, if not ancient, posters on here, having supported The Lads since the mid 1950s. Intermittently while playing local football, then regularly when my playing “career” was over. I was never able to afford a season card until 1972-73 and we all know what happened at the end of that season! Perfect timing and lucky. Has anybody else had good luck, or ill luck, with tickets?

I was 12 going on 13 when we won the cup. I wasn't a season ticket holder back then, but never missed a game and stood at the back of the Fulwell End. The Pink C voucher that I received for attending an earlier league game was drawn out and got me a ticket for the cup final.
I’ll not say never
But I rarely missed a match and if you remember there were not many supporters
At that present time
However my pink tickets never got me a final ticket
Although I attended most of the season with small crowds
I’m ok now though not bitter

I’ve had many season tickets through my life
There was occasions work prevented me having a ticket
1974-1987 ticket
1997-2007 ticket
2014-to date ticket
And I still attended as often as I could the other years

I'm still a season card holder. You're right, there were not many supporters then. I believe the first game of the season, against Orient I think, attracted 12,573 if my memory serves me right. Contrast that with 53,151 against Luton in the sixth round!

League cup final v Man City, me and my 2 bro in laws had season tickets and were guaranteed tickets, bro in law no 2 had promised his bro in law who lives in New Zealand that if we ever got to a final again they would go, so over they came and he gave him his ticket as promised, could we heck find a spare, they were like hens teeth. I’ve still got Smug’s number in my phone as thought might have been able to sort on the day, but by some stroke of luck on the Friday night I got one at face value right next to his so they got to go together

Remember sleeping out at roker for tickets at old trafford. Was on Look North coming out of the ticket office. I was 15 and it was my first time at Old Trafford. What a night.

Love it, mate. I remember this one well as me and my Granda couldn't get tickets and ended up going to the Crowtree leisure centre to watch it.

Was incredible mate. I remember the the replay too. Was in te Fullwell End. Was really special night until the second half.

Then at the end that **** Cole scored an offside header and they did us in that typical Man U 'off the hook' style.

Yeah, I got tickets for the replay. I think it was Phil Gray who scored for us and we were winning for the first hour before they came back and beat us.

Atmosphere was unbelievable that night.
