    Madam Bonny FC Odds 33/1

Going to take a chance on this Jim Goldie 2 year old who is making just her 2nd career start today. Madam Bonny made her debut at Ayr earlier this month and she was very well supported before the off from 25/1 into 12/1 but was too green to do herself justice. Her run did not lack ability, however, and Daniel Tudhope gave her an educational ride after knowing her chance was gone. Although she is a very cheap purchase, she is related to a few nice winners over jumps and with Goldie a very shrewd trainer who does not recklessly dispense with his money I think the market support suggested she has more to offer than she showed on debut. Madam Bonny is sure to improve from her first effort and this very early January foal could be more developed that a lot of her younger rivals and represents Goldie and Tudhope's only action today.

Nice write-up ROTO. Betting on her first race certainly did show that she must be showing something at home? Will have a modest bet on the filly, although she still might need a bit more time? Good points about being an early foal, and Goldie's only action there today.............<ok>

Anyone else struggling to open up the racecards on Sporting Life this morning?

Nice looking meeting at Ffos Las today and the nap vote goes to Book'em Danno in the opener - Peter Bowen's charge won his maiden nicely enough and should come on for that and the step up in trip. A shade of odds-on so I will double him with Barizan in the 3.20.

    Good luck folks <ok>

Morning men, Gem (apologies if you are a chap but from the kisses i am guessing a lady ) and Chief!

Oddy: As always i shall let you know the winners and as always the losers too :cheesy:

Nass: You are perfectly correct, I did NOT back Mohawk Ridge but was mightily impressed with the ride! Hope you backed it mate!

I backed Roninsky Tue evening but NOT on course!! Yes i went for the Charlie Hills 'donkey' which the stewards quite rightly called for the trainers represntative.

Fortunately i bumped into Scott Dobson before the first race and he told me that Phil Makin had said do NOT touch Dods's in the first, so i have no idea where all that money came from as it wasn't the yard! Still didn't get the winner although Wayward Lad did :emoticon-0100-smile. Whilst i was chatting to Dobbo, Graham overheard a very interesting conversation between trainer Midgely and his owner, more to come!

Whilst watching them in the parade ring for the 2nd had a chat with Phil as my daughter and my lasses daughter wanted a photo with him! This is a quick transcript:

Me: Beautifal Day prefers the AW but any chance? PM 'prefers very bad horses more!!'
Me: Berrys must have half a chance? PM 'i'll struggle to ride a placed horse today let alone a winner Gaz!'

2nd race: Despite being given Green Howard on course, backed Strong Man to win, ran a sound race and maybe should have won!

3rd race: Circus Clown was my banker but withdrawn in the morning, Mohawk Ridge was as feisty as anything in the ring and needed 2 handlers, should have backed it especially as Free Zone was exactly the same in the first!! Bit annoyed with myself as i highlighted yours in my RP for a lugh and still forgot it :emoticon-0111-blush

4th race: I think because i had backed Roninski the night before i allowed that to put me off and back the Hills rag!! Ran a stinker but still in the PPot :emoticon-0103-cool:

5th race: Proper blow out race although how did the winner go off at 16s especially after winning LTO!!

6th race: Had to runners going for me in the PPot, again how stupid am I, really fancied Kians Delight but because Jedd had won the race before i didn't think he could train a double!! 1st and 3rd in the Ppot so that was good!

7th race: I really fancied Beautiful Day but Phil said it had no chance so i jumped aboard Red River Boy BUT also had a saving EW bet on Spirit of Coniston as that was the one the trainer was telling to back as it was right and had the best draw! Gambled from 16s into 8s, how it went off at 12s i'll never understand as there was none in the main ring! JUmped out made all and the rest is history, the queues collecting told it;s own story, the bookies were well beaten!

As per yesterdays thread got the PPot again, was happy with £73 but not as good as the previous £1008 <party>:emoticon-0116-evilg

Another enjoyable day at the Bridge despite the shower. Came home a little up as i was blackmailed into giving 'the 2 girls' a twenty spot each! :emoticon-0100-smile

  6. Gary, missed you before I left yesterday collecting my winnings for Spirit Of Connistion took some time, the information must have spread like wild fire, the parade ring at Catterick is so tight you pick up all sorts of information.

Thanks for a good day, lovely to meet your good lady and daughters, hopefully they had a good day.

All in all a profitable day with the winner in the first at 8/1 and the luck last at 12/1, happy days :emoticon-0100-smile

Wayward: <cheers> glad you overheard Midgely mate, made the day and how easy did that one win!!

Got robbed by the girls who deemed it unfair that i picked up on the ppot and then on your Spirit of Coniston :emoticon-0136-giggl

All 3 enjoyed it and want to come again although Jan was moaning coz she couldn't drink and apparently i was not paying her enough attention or summat like that

Sounds like a fun day out on the bridge. Bravo.

Today I like one in the headgear on first handicap sprint 3.10 Carlisle

The horse is Red Roar, its been in fantastic form and I think that will continue against this motley crue. I think they will set it up for it

The 5.15 at Killarney looks very interesting, Jessie Harrington's Bullock Harbour looks like a very decent animal and 5/2 is tickling my fancy ...................

Was nice seeing Alan Berry and Dandy having a laugh with David Barker yesterday, at one stage they were comparing waist lines :emoticon-0116-evilg

Hopefully Barker will pull through but he didn't look in the best of sorts, poor lad!

    2 for me today:

420 Ffos: Ixora has run 2 nice races lately in better grade and is worth risking upped in trip and down in grade. Jamie Snowdon looks a good trainer for the future.

500 Ling: Escape To Glory looks a value bet after going off very short last twice! Back to Lingfield he could win with the same consumate ease as his last voctory there. Keep an eye on oddschecker as he is often punted!

Be Lucky all who play <ok>
