Good Luck <ok>

Re Squire. If you would have waited a few days he would be running off 58 instead of tomorrow’s 59. Is this an oversight???

I see Spiced, who he is up against, is the most wonderfully bred filly. I’ll guarantee that if she wins of the morrow, and breaks her maiden in the process, she will be dispatched to the old breeding sheds PDQ.

Looks a reasonable opportunity for Squire though and he does seem to like Chelmsford. Good luck.

Chelmsford 18.15
I quite like the look of Quasar in this. Had a gentle intro and ran well after slow start. Sire won the Kentucky derby. Dam was by Cherokee Run who won the Breeders Cup sprint. William Buick takes over the ride (top jockey). Unfortunately, top priced 100/30. Of the newcomers, Maid for Life (20/1) and Volcanique (20/1) look interesting at the prices

All the best, comes back in one piece...

The very best of luck with Squire. Really do think he can win this one. Should have won LTO at Kempton but for that "Pennsylvania Dutch"-type start? <ok>

Also best of luck to Maria‘s Benefit on her chase debut at Warwick.

I really rate Maria’s Benefit. Though her win in Listed grade, over the Christmas period last term, was excellent. That was, of course, the famous race when moments before it the Lieutenant went live to the nation and decreed that his representative, owned by Her Majesty, who was 2/2 over hurdles wasn’t really any good! People, such honesty is rarely seen on our racecourses – great use of the programme book as well, by the forum’s favourite trainer, to get a mare like that Listed placed. And then Maria’s Benefit went in at Grade 2 level to boot afterwards.

Eyecatching with Maria’s Benefit and fences that they weren’t set to mess around and had been planning to debut her in ‘open’ company rather than finding some exceptionally weak ‘mares only’ contest.

Just noticed that there is no Flat turf action today in the Isle. Cor blimey I bet the old racing purists (remember them?!?) are lamenting uncontrollably right now!

All the best with Squire guys this evening. I don't however share the forum's optimism for the ol boy's chances carrying top weight against a whole bunch of 3 year olds, at least one of whom is bound to 'find' a few lbs of improvement. That said, given my hopelessness at finding winners on the flat my negativity could be seen as a huge plus for Squire's chances. All the very best, I do hope he wins for you.

hi fellas!

huntingdon,2 00:

RED HANRAHAN hasnt won since his novice hurdle days, but the handicapper has given him a chance, and he has bits and pieces of form, that would make him competitive today..e w player..starting out for a new yard too, which might rekindle his enthusiasm.

warwick,2 10:

a weak start to proceedings here, but TOPOFTHECOTSWOLDS has already shown more than enough ability recently, and his second last time out has been boosted by the winner a few days ago.big chance.

Afternoon Gents
Don’t post here often but have a few bits of information that I thought might be worth sharing firstly the 3.35 Huntingdon word from the stable is that Gamekeeper Bill is worth a bet at a big price. Also the two Stuart Edmunds runners are fancied to run well but both relatively short prices already.
Cheers.

warwick,2 45:

another weak looking contest, but TRIXSTER could well be good enough to take this.hasnt set the world alight so far,but has shown a bit of abilitiy, and was outclassed last time out, despite well fancied that day.has the assistance of the champion jockey, and this team has a good strike-rate together..

Interesting that Volcaique has gone out to 33/1 but Maid for Life has halved in price to 10/1. Quasar now best price 11/4 2nd fav

my first thought was notre ami,who had quite a good season last time, and only disappointed twice, when raised in class.but the big improver here is surely bottom-weight SAD EYED DYLAN,after just two starts under rules.ran a fine race last time out,and can go well again today..
