Good Morning all, todays racing comes from Haydock Park, Brighton and Yarmouth. This evenings racing is at Chepstow, Folkestone and Sandown Park with our freinds across the Irish Sea visiting Leopardstown and Sligo. Be Lucky all who play
MWCats: Well done on your 'tip' yesterday mate, typical you supply a winner and i am watching Wayward Lad lob some balls round a grass field
Morning all, 2.10 Beyond Conceit 5.30 Classy Strike 5.50 Meloneras Rationale? Well its all on - The Blog!
Morning, one. Morning, all. Not at all sure why we need 6 fixtures today but there may be a rose out there amongst the many, many thorns. Flame of Hestia (4.20 Yarmouth) - this one is a very lightly raced mare who returned from a 2 year lay off to run a race full of promise last time out. Beaten three-quarters of a length that day by the progressive Fransician (who has won again since off 72) the mare can be expected to have improved from that outing and off just 65 looks very well handicapped today to this correspondent's eye. But beware on all bets punters as torrential rain will almost certainly result in a ‘change of going’ at main of today’s meets. Tread carefully as a result. By the way Nass, if you haven't heard, Paul Hannigan has been booked to ride your Bapak Chipta in the Nunthorpe.
3-30 Brighton - Ocean Countess. She likes this course (before any smart arsed troglodyte asks if she's said that herself, then no of course she hasn't but she looks like she enjoys it) and has won here a couple of times including over the distance. She's on a much ,ower mark than she was last time she won here and I have taken 13/2
Chuckles, first I heard about the booking. Read that the horse was impressing Phil on the gallops and yesterday that it was on target for the race. Good booking anyway.
Oh and Barney, you need to get yourself up to Bath racecourse one of these days. They obviously have a very talented man who heads up the hiring and firing squad!!! Their new recruit is absolutely stunning!!!
GDC gave Cats your Mobile number mate, hope you dont mind, he is going to Ascot and was wanting some info, coure, tips , drinking etc
GDC - I haven;t heard anything yet.. What's it called? I'll deffo try and find out about it. Have been told the one today at Sandown is nice (6:45) ... just trying to find some more info about it first before I give it off as a decent bet.
5.45 Leopardstown - DADDY LONG LEGS 11/1 BOG E.W - An interesting 2yo maiden to start the card at Leopardstown. Learn will start fav here for the O'Brien yard having chased home a useful looking prospect from the Dermot Weld yard at Galway last time out. However at the prices he makes no appeal. Joseph O'Brien had been riding well lately and we now know he isn't far down in the pecking order at all and therefore it wouldn't surprise me if Daddy Long Legs was to out run his odds- he looks an interesting if not spectacular type on paper but holds all the big entries. Any late market support is always interesting for the O'Brien debutants so it will make me more confident if this one is supported. Anyhow I do feel he is worth a small e.w dabble at the odds. 6.50 Leopardstown - PARLOUR 33/1 BOG E.W (NAP) - This is a bit of a wild selection but Parlour is a horse I am interested in this evening at the odds. I remember her winning on debut when trained by Dermot Weld and owned by Abdullah,s he landed a massive gamble in impressive fashion that day suggesting this filly has plenty of ability. However things haven't went to plan since with Parlour switching yards for a cheap price and not showing much at all for her current connections, however she runs off a mark of just 65 today and is rapidly dropping down the weights, a 10lb claimer is also booked and if the horse retains any of her old ability I would fancy her to run a big race from this mark this evening. 6.45 Sandown - MARTIN CHUZZLEWHIT 6/4 BOG - This horse has a big reputation and shaped nicely on debut when 5th at Newbury in a fair looking maiden. He should have come on for the run and when I was listening to this race on one of the radio commentary stations the reports about this horse were very positive. Those that had seen him work never shut up about him for 10 minutes before the race and suggested before hand that he would need the outing which may well explain only a satisfactory debut. This looks a good chance to win at the second time of asking and hopefully this £420,000 purchase can go on to better things.
Good afternoon all, New to the thread although i have been following it for the last month or so. (Looks very impressive and some very good tipping) I quite like the look of Plattsburgh in the 3.30 Brighton. Only Johnston horse there today and won on its previous start. On at 5/2
MWCats: Wrotham Heath, bay colt mate. Danbo: That's fine, just don't give it out to the obvious 'people' thanx mate
2.10 Haydock Goon Piper 20/1 e.w- Looks a value bet given that Dascombes juveniles have been decent this season, and done well at Haydock. Also Badea looks fairly limited despite having experience, and I think the favourite is way too short. I thought the two debutants in the shape of Goon Piper and also Jeremy Nosedas' Attenborough made most appeal. Interesting little maiden.
