I thought I was being shrewd taking 10/1 last night but hes out to 16s and seemingly not wanted today, might be out for a handicap mark before going up in trip.
The top 4 in the betting have all looked like rogues, Point Of View has the best form but didnt settle last time and I didnt think he was worth backing at 6/4, Mazaz didnt really go on from his first run, Magnum hasnt looked the most straightforward and on a line through Pointel he has a bit to find with Kesselring although whether thats a solid line I dont know, and its hard to back Scottish Summit after his last run.
Kesselring is a half brother to Piping Rock and a couple of decent middle distance fillies, the 1st and 2nd from his debut race are decent animals and the 3rd has since won off 80 despite being an absolute dog. He stepped up on that when running well for a long way in the Ulysses maiden and if you take the winner out he would have finished 2 3/4L 4th in a Newbury maiden, maybe better as it was Ulysses who forced him to come off the bridle while plenty were at it in behind. He should improve again and with the step back up to 1m4 I thought he could get the run of the race in this and maybe steal it. The drift suggests not.
Nothing being backed in Buzz's race which is what was hoped as money for the Prescott or Hannon horse would have needed taking very seriously, a mark of 60 looks good and a decent opportunity.
Looking at the race I would say if Buzz has learned from his previous outings then a place looks the minimum that should be achieved and I would say the The Juggler and Buzz will fill the first two places. Such is Sir Mark however he could be running an 80 horse and we will not know until afterwards, Tenzing Norguay is such an example in the last week.

Can't complain at that as horse and Jockey did all they could, perhaps better ground would have helped as the ground looks sticky and so ground is made up very slowly in it, Buzz did close but not quick enough. The only concern I would have is that it didn't look a great race which leads you to think that there is definitely a race to be had from the current mark but that there is not much future scope.
I thought Jim Crowley gave a good ride however as I like to see the horse pulled into the open early on these galloping tracks, especially at this level as they tend not do anything quickly.
I am sure a visit to the winners enclosure is not far away Stick, and although we don't have another Squire to have a horse that finds its way to winning at all is a great achievement that not all experience.

Cheers guys. Ran a decent race, beat all the fancied horses but a 16/1 shot runs above anything it has done before.

Great run there stick/don. Thought he was coming to win. Typical eh; beat the ones you were worried about and a rank outsider pops out of the blue. Maybe with better ground and Rob Havlin on top, he would have won. JC didn't give him a bad ride but I wouldn't say it was the best either. I think if he could have been a bit closer up on the rail and pulled out once round the bend, instead of going so wide, he would probably have won. But it's easier from an armchair. Definitely a race or 2 to be won with him as long as the handicapper doesn't clobber him
