Mr Henderson’s PREMIER BOND should go very well tomorrow at Towcester in the ‘lucky last’ (4.20). Purchased for €60,000 back in ’13 this son of Kayf Tara has had just the one run to date when a staying on 3rd at Exeter on New Years Day. What makes that run all the more eyecatching is that Premier Bond was as green as can be in the early stages and the penny only dropped about what racing was all about once he hit the home straight. Back in 8th at that stage the old boy then made notable progress through the field to be a never nearer 5 lengths off the winner at the line. In the interim you can guarantee that Mr Henderson, the forum’s favourite trainer, will have bought the gelding on considerably whilst his ‘magic hands’ are bound to have done their usual brilliant work. This does look a well above average bumper by Towcester standards as The Last Cavalier is a half-brother to multiple Grade 2 winner Racing Demon, What A Moment cost those old rogues the Pipe’s £68,000, Alan King’s The Unit cost a few bob as well and Briery Queen was 4th last time at Listed level. However, I have full faith in Premier Bond (who does look to have a very bright future ahead of him) and the man who is our sports shining star, its leading light and its most instantly recognisable figure on the racecourse, Mr Henderson. May God bless him and save him. Good luck all.
All the best to connections of forum favourite Harristown tomorrow. I'm sure he'll run another great race although it does look a tough assignment. I do like the very game front running mare Blue Buttons in that race but I've had to have a bit of the 7s available on the aforementioned. Watch Blue Buttons make all now and romp home! Hope he comes back safe and sound for you. At Towcester I like the chances of Ozzy Thomas in the novice hurdle. It's been mentioned on here recently about up and coming trainers, particularly Ben Pauling. I'm not sure Henry Oliver is the next big thing but he does remarkably well with his string of 20 or so horses. His last 13 runners have yielded 4 wins, 3 seconds and a third. He reckons his horses are mostly winter ground types so he's certainly got his ground recently. Good luck all having a punt but most of all good luck Harristown.
3:10 Wincanton Bincombe 7-1 Was back to his best when winning at Aintree last month, and only pulled up last time because he lost a shoe.
With what appears to be a draw bias over 5f at Southwell of late (low drawn, stall 1 in particular) I will be very hopeful that VERY FIRST BLADE should be winning this. Likes to lead so barring any dramas at the start I can see this one leading all the way. Currently 5/1.
15:10 Wincanton - Atlantic Roller (@ 3/1) (Off out for rest of day so good luck to all. Will also do Atlantic Roller in a small r/f with French import Saint Raph, who's hard to figure out).
I've now spent around 2 hours studying that Nicholls race at Wincanton and still not reached a conclusion! I'd want Harristown to win as it's a "forum" horse, I backed Blue Buttons last time, and I always "back 'em until they lose". I'm wary of the two Nicholls runners - in particular Rothman, as he appears to be coming to hand, although Earthmoves looks weighted to overturn BB. However, I found that 40-1 too good to pass up about Union Saint. If you draw a line through his last race (although I've no idea why you should!) then his race before last was quite impressive and IMO will get him placed at least In the earlier race 3-1 is still available about Atlantic Roller - take it, it's a snip! Good luck all EDIT: Apologies Swanny - I didn't sponge Atlantic Roller off you, honest!
Good Morning to all from a snowy Walton Lea .... I bring news of HUNTERS HOOF ... this is part owned by a friend and the advice is it's going well at home and will be running in the next 10 days as prep for a possible shot @ the Supreme Novice !!! ... they entered Hunters on Tuesday and its 66/1 @ the moment. The forums favorite trainer is allegedly delighted with how well its come on since beating stablemate DAYS of HEAVEN that has since gone on to beat the smart BUCKWHEAT ...so watch this space for further info / updates .. keep an eye open for it then lads - it will be going soon ...
I'm hoping that lovely Venetia Williams has a good day at Wincanton as I've backed a couple of hers in eway singles and a double... DRUMSHAMBO 6/1 DUBAWI ISLAND 11/1 Her other runner is the fav in the first, won't be carrying my pennies though as I'm not keen on the price. Good luck all!!
BOOOOO HISSSSSSSSSS DREVER, fancy putting anything up to beat HARRISTOWN. Best in the race Harry, still improving and gutsy as they come. The LIGHTENTERTAINMENT form from his last run looks outstanding and at 15/s HARRY is a monster price for each way thieves. Monster price I say!
Cheeky double and singles for me today @ Towcester .. Dusky legend and Assirem .. following the Pauling form ... what can stop me !!! 13:50 AND 15:20 Respectively
I have a sneaky fancy for COOLKING 14-1 Towcester 2.20 today. I think he has conditions to suit. Not going overboard as the yard has been very quiet of late. Interesting to see how CATHERINES WELL goes at Wincanton today. Looked a horse worth following on debut but took the mother of all falls last time when upsides the winner at the last.
My losers for today: Thurles - 135 Drumlee, 205 Triplets Joy 235 Totally Dominant Towcester - 150 Hopes Wishes e/w NAP 220 Newton Thistle 320 Assirem Southwell - 200 Electric Qatar 300 Jacobs Son 330 Mash Potato NB Wincanton 210 Minella Definetly 340 Blue Buttons 440 Lincoln County Meydan 245 Artigiano 320 Ahtoug 355 Alareef All the very best to those involved with Harristown
I know Stick but giving weight to some fair horses just couldn't bring myself to back it. Plus, I have a 'thing' for Venetia Good luck Don!!
Best of luck to all on Harris town and my apologies but I have to side ew with Roth man Std takes over and the mark looks very workable
Alright John looks quit impressive and way to big at 21/1 ew John goes well at 24f from the videos I have managed to get and I would not be suprised if he steps up in trip well ,granted there is a risk but the price is worthy of the punt I'm my opinion
