330 Ludlow: BALLYOLIVER 6/1 Will be my bet. I believe that if the in form Venetia Williams yard have taken some time to tidy up his jumping since his last poor run he will run a massive race based on his form late last year. The poor run last time out may have actually done him a favour in that he carries a nice low weight in this handicap. Anyhow, that's my tuppence worth, good luck with your selections!!
Mine are best avoided at the moment so here are three for you to put a line through; BOLD CHIEF 12-1 4.10 Taunton showed stunning novice form last season beating Thomas Crapper and Thanks For Coming 7l & 7l and is clearly the best of these. The handicap is very tight and I can see him shouldering topweight. His run behind Dark Lover is decent form and that was on ground softer than ideal. Big price. ASIAN PRINCE 16-1 5.10 Taunton has been running in some very decent juvenile company and is feasibly very lightly in on his handicap debut. ZARRAFAKT 10-1 3.30 Ludlow will either pull up or win as he likes. He doesnt stand much racing and is certainly best fresh so I cant believe he will not be trying if indeed he is in the mood. If he is then he is a class act and almost certainly a lot better than the handicapper has ever believed him to be. He won a Winacanton handicap in facile fashion last season off a mark of 133, tomorrow he is off 140 with a 7lb claiming amateur up. He was 19 lengths in front of Richards Sundance that day at Wincanton, a horse now rated 135! Thats a 2430-1 treble mmmmmmmm
Make sure you do it e/w cos Thunderstorm is winning the 4.10. Now i just need to find something to stick in a double with it.....
Thunderstorm.......the gift that keeps on giving ;-) Try THECORNISHCOCKNEY Brough, another i put on here earlier in the season that keeps on winning!
I was on that the first couple of times you flagged him up stick! Saw him win quite easily the other week - looks like he could have a couple more wins in him before the handicapper catches up! Regards thunderstorm, i think it may take a fair while before the handicapper catches up with him. Won incredibly easily last time and just does enough every time, i could see him easily racking up another 3/4 wins before he comes unstuck
I heard a whisper that paddy power will be refunding bets if hurricane fly wins the champs hurdle.im on the fly at 5s but will have something now on zarkander.
You could well be right Brough, he did it cheekily last time. I have put the Fry horse up tomorrow as I think he is a class act and a very good price but Thunderstorm is still going the right way, as is Jupiter Rex in the race before. THECORNISHCOCKNEY is bizarre, they drop him out to the point where he is almost tailed off but he cuts through fields like a knife through hot butter. The first time I put him up he was beaten in a four way photo at 50-1 and the second time he was beaten by a hotpot at 14-1 when he hung in behind the winner. He certainly doesnt look ungenuine any more and no fancy prices these days either sadly.
From Lavelle's stable tour on ATR ""Just a funny horse. It didn't happen for him when he pulled up at Wincanton first time out this season. His figures are usually one or a P." Seems like she has no clue either as to which horse will turn up!
In the marathon slog for mares at Ludlow (15:00) have had a modest R/F on Grassfinch and Toot Sweet. Both are by Generous and both have stamina in abundance in their breeding. GL everyone!
I'm pretty sure it's a hot knife through butter - either way he is hilted to the weight ( ) and I think Tartan Jura may have his measure! I'm also with Thunderstorm, forecasted with Spanish Treasure and doubled with Jupiter Rex and Touch The Eden (15-55 Thurles) Good luck Stickman and other backers of lousy racing!
I didn't want to put this one up without market support but given that this one is 8s from 12s last night (13/2 in places) I can now share my pick for the 3.30 Ludlow, which is Requin. He's on a winning mark and hopefully he's fully tuned up for today, his first run in 2013.
Thurles 2.25 Dangan Daylight 6/5 2.55 Lambro 6/4 3.55 Mala Beach 10/1 e/w 4.25 Dylan Villen 9/1 Meydan 2.45 Kassiano 11/10 3.55 Elleval 15/8
Didn't back Mount Benbulben after much deliberation. Going right handed is the key..5/6 wins have come on tracks of this orientation. The trip put me off tbh.
