Merry Xmas everyone and yes huge thanks to Attivo for keeping the daily thread going for another year. The King George does look like it could be an absolute cracker
Kempton 12,45 Leave Of Abscence 11/1 e/w bet365, Lads and Coral three places, 10/1 others 13,20 Masaccio 5/1 WH and bet365, 9/2 others 15,40 Mahons Glory 12/1 e/w WH, Lads and Coral three places, 11/1 others
I see a former darling of ITV racing has a ride on Xmas day. Bryony Frost has 2 today (Xmas Eve) at Cagnes Sur Mer which I understand is on the South of France near Nice and on Xmas Day she goes to Pau for just the one ride. Her treatment over here was not British racing’s finest hour IMO.
Merry Xmas everyone, hope you all have an enjoyable festive period with the family and loved ones. Hopefully the winners will keep flowing.
14:30 Kempton Park - Grey Dawning e/w King George VI Chase over 3m on good ground. The Flemensfirth gelding ran an excellent race LTO 33-days ago when finishing 2nd at Haydock in a 3m2f Chase at Haydock on soft ground, jumping superbly. Harry Skelton on board for the Dan Skelton stable. 11/2 best price at time of writing, in many places on the ATR site.
As old boy McCririck was wont to say, we have flip-flopping favs in the Christmas Hurdle with Constitution Hill now a shade of odds-on and Lossiemouth out to 11/10.
Morning all. What a day of sport we have lined up. Big Bash, Football and racing. The highlight being the King George which has a a great line up. I have an AP voucher for Bravemansgame at 25/1 EW which I’m happy enough with. However I’m really pleased to see the french raider I’l Est Francais in the line up. Absolutely sensational in the novice chase here last year but a bit in and out since. Away from the top class offering at Kempton there is a ‘National’ at Market Rasen. The Lincoln National was won by Fergal O’Brien last year and he has Hewegohoney, the outsider of the field lining up today. His mare has won over course and distance on decent ground before so at 33/1 I’ll have an each way dabble. Good luck all.
Which 3 horses are we most looking forward to seeing strut their stuff today then? For me it is: Constitution Hill The Jukebox Man Potters Charm Nothing really standout in Ireland to be honest - feels like a slower start to proceedings over there this year with the 2 mile grade 1 novice chase having been scrapped.
Merry Xmas everyone. I’m going to take a chance on the Willie Mullins horse Johnny Blue (formerly Nicky Henderson) in the 1.45 Leapordstown. Currently 9/2
My 3 would all be in the King George Oddy. - Bravemansgame - money involved, enough said. - Il Est Francais - looked like a wonder horse 12 months ago and on the strength of it I arranged to go to Auteuil for the May Grand Steep meeting only for IEF to be scratched a week or so beforehand. Could be electric but also could be pulled up. - Grey Dawning - top novice last year and brave performance at Haydock lto. However those conditions were brutal so will be a hell of performance to come back from that 5 weeks later.
