Todays rcaing comes to us from Ludlow, Brighton, Carlisle and the AW at Wolverhampton... Please post any thought and picks for todays action... Good luck to all who play today...
Just having a laugh in the 3.25 @ Carlisle... The leading two in the betting are Ben Cee Pee M and Ring Bo Ree... Cant wait to hear the commentary on that one if its a head bobber at the line... And i quiet fancy one of them to take it also...
Carlisle seems to be my destination for todays picks, and two that i fancy are... 3.55 - Vamizi, 7/2 Has won at 3m in the mud, as the going is soft for the Chase track today at Carlisle, and is now running for a yard just starting to show some winners recently... 4.30 - Circus Clown, 11/4 The going says it is good for the hurdles but i think that by the time this race will be run that might well have gone to soft. Circus Clown has won on soft and heavy ground over the hurdles before, and although beaten lto on soft ground that was at a slighlty longer trip of 2m4f. Good luck all and i hope we can see a few winners come in for the best tipping site around... (bar my selctions...hehehehe...)
Dire with a capital D I R and E is the racing today. No bets, but lets hope the cricket carries on going England's way. Good luck all!
The TopClass no bet banner is firmly out today as well. However, I do think there might be value to be had in the Racing Post Trophy on Saturday.
Oscar Davy might be too big in the 1.50 at 7/2 with the fav never an Ev fav chance in a million years....however too many questions today and not enough answers.... i'll give a miss today as well.
Afternoon, all. Carlisle should be congratulated in my opinion as that’s a very good card they’ve got today. I’ll nominate 2, in fact, at the meet: Frascati Park (5.00 Carlisle) – this is a well above average ‘Beginners’ Chase’ but old boy Twiston-Davies’ charge was a useful performer over hurdles and promises to be even better over the big ‘uns. A dual winner over timber (which included giving Sprinter Sacre a beating at Ascot, albeit when the latter was far from 100%) he was also placed at Graded level on many occasions. Looks a promising recruit to chasing and can be expected to put up a bold show here. Willow’s Saviour (5.30 Carlisle) – another race which is far better than the norm with several who could be potentially useful in the heat. However, it may be worth taking a chance with Charlie Longsdon’s charge. This gelding has a pair of 3rd placings to his name and in achieving these results hinted at being a nice type. All the horses who to date have beaten him have come out and subsequently won so I believe his form is strong and he looks the one to beat in this one. Good luck all.
Really like GOLDEN SUNBIRD in the opener at Thurles (2.15) she was over the top when getting thrashed by Shop DJ (fav here) on her final start of the season. She had previously finished ahead of that rival. Strong traveller and has a 7lbs claimer up today. Really looking forward to her chase debut and tbh I will be disappointed if she gets beat. FRASCATI PARK 5.00 Carlisle - I have always liked this horse and I do think he will have a very good novice chase campaign this season. He is better over further but conditions are perfect for him, will probably go from the front and just keep galloping. Beat the high class Sprinter Sacre at Ascot last season and very fair price here at 4/1.
1.50 Carlisle - GO ON ARCH E.W - Full of promise on debut when 7th in a good bumper at Cheltenham in November 2010 behind Rock On Ruby. Always in rear and tailed off at Newbury in only start since and absence after that run suggests there may have been a problem. Now goes hurdling and for me has a nice E.W chance.
You've been listening to SirBarney too much RV Gadaffi captured, not deed, according to t'BBC Haven't had chance to peruse the cards in detail today but I would echo the positive sentiments around Frascati park from my fellow forumites
I say RV if you and me agree on a horse surely only 1 thing can happen now! People, didn't that Tregonning bumper horse look good yesterday?!? Wouldn't be surprised if a few more flat trainers got 'in on the act' as by winning that race they've probobly increased the value of that horse many times over (he’s due to go to the sales soon). Meanwhile, Daddy Long Legs is not going for the old 'Racing Post Trophy' then. I take it Mr O'Brien will be crossing the water with him and taking on the American's in the 'Breeders cup Juvenile' as a result. Deffo a time to 'open the vault' if he does.
Odddy - according to sky news he was shot dead two to the legs and a bullet through his heed, bringing his body now SBC lets hope so - Asker did look good yesterday - half bro to Celestial Halo old boy btw chap Mr Nicholls has confirmed Master Minded for the Old Roan and your fav Tataniano will carry top weight in the Chepstown Handicap
I think Credit Swap might be worth a dabble at 4/1 today in the 4.30 at Carlisle. Looked slightly gawky and awkward over hurdles last season but I'm hoping that, with another summer on his back, he can rise up a couple of notched this season
That Chepstow race looks very tough as Tataniano is going to have to concede a lot of weight to some very good horses. Still my confidence in the old boy will never waiver. Must say though that I’d have been keener to see him race against his stable mate Master Minded, up at Aintree, in receipt of well over a stone. As I don’t think there is a horse around capable of giving Tataniano 18 pounds and a beating – cor blimey just realised I sounded like someone else for a minute there!
Nice from Shop DJ thought it was one off when she beat Golden Sunbird last time - glad GS is ok after that fall horrible
I'm going to be controverisial here SirBarney but with reference to Sprinter Sacre, I'm just not convinced that Mr Henderson is as good with chasers as he is with hurdlers. With the latter he is the undisputed master IMHO, the number of hurdles winners he has, particularly novices, is quite simply staggering. But over the larger obstacles I would argue that he does not have the same success (indeed he seems to want to focus on hurdlers, they seem to make up the majority of his string). So whatever potential Sprinter Sacre may bring with him to novice chasing this season, I think he may well be destined to follow a similar route to Punchestowns. Is there anywhere I can find out stats re Hendersons success rate the hurdlers and chasers individually?
