In the old days this was always the start day of the flat. Always seemed a bit early but nowadays the flat seems to skulk in as if there's something unseemly about it.

Better tip one in a flat race then!

    AWESOME ROSIE 9-2 Chepstow 5:20

Created a good impression when third behind a stablemate at Newbury last month. The runner up reappeared this week and fairly bolted up. I am confident that the race will throw up several winners and none took the eye more than this one. The wfa allowance sees her getting a stone off the favourite!

Each way poke on Sunshine Buddy in the 2.30 at Chepstow. The only course winner in the field and has been in the frame here on 2 other occasions. Lowest weight with claimer taking another 7lb off. I'll risk a little ew at 16s.

Red Cape 20/1 Wolverhampton 2.40 - at 12 years of age is definitely not improving but he ran a nice race LTO going down by 3.75 lengths over CD after a few months lay - off, hopefully that will have him a bit sharper for tomorrow, he is dropped a further 2 lb for that to 62 (has won off 77 here before)..The handicapper does seem to afford him at least one or two wins a year nowadays and with some luck the old boy can hopefully go well at a course and distance which has been good to him.

    All the best fellas

    3:05 Chep - VERTUEUX 14/1

Failed to complete in 3 chase attempts late last year and return to hurdling was poor earlier this month. However, that run came in a better race than this and would have blown away the cobwebs. Should also appreciate the ground and is the only course and distance winner in the line up. Worth an eway tickle in my opinion.

Also doubled it up with Sticks tip AWESOME ROSIE 4/1 in the bumper.

    Good luck all!!

    3:30 Ludlow

DOUBLE SILVER @ 8/1 If back to something like her old form on this second run (the other was a fall) since May 2013 has a great chance in this!

Two runners at Ludlow today who I think are at prices bigger than they should be.
DEWALA 3-1 3:30 is on a hat-trick and has clearly the best form on offer and a handy 3lb claimer in the plate &
ARMCHAIR THEATRE 7/2 5:45 who's bumper win puts him head and shoulders above this field
(interesting horse in that bumper is For Good Measure who is a full brother to Balthazar King)

Afternoon all.fancy a few shorties at thurles so will do a treble which pays at 8/1:romantic fashion/rolling rocket and old boy first lieutenant all to score.
Tommy mullins saddles annie alainn who won lto and could go in again over a longer trip.11/2 seems a decent price

Get in! 9/2 so what a lovely price! The other beaten 1/2 length....I don't even want to know what that has cost me for the double!

Given today's pitiful effort (another jockey fell off, I'm keeping a low profile tonight.
