HAPPIER 10/1 Thirsk 6:40 Looked a speedy enough type on debut but met plenty of trouble in running. Was allowed to come home pretty much in her own time but visually looked like a horse that would improve massively from debut to run two. Yard does have another runner who is shorter but I think this one could be the better proposition. The market might prove an interesting guide.
I see that Hurricane Fly's half-brother (Scandisk Park) makes his bow on Saturday at Haydock Park (5.00). Fascinating to see how the 5YO (by Walk in the Park) gets on, at the weekend, for Lieutenant Henderson...
The Getaway gelding, Somekindofstar, has indicated he's returning to form, and has a squeak in the Handicap Chase at Huntingdon (14:50). Jack Quinlan rides for the Charlie Longsdon stable. A generally-available 15/2 is best price at time of writing.
Buick has given some good rides at Chester, winning two races you'd think he had no chance of winning. He was standing no nonsense from Gavin Ryan in the Dee and I'd think there'll be some interesting conversations in the Stewards Room
