One of huge interest for one of the morrow has to be PICK A LITTLE in the ‘lucky last’ at Brighton (5.00). Spoke about him earlier in the week and his form at this meeting for the past couple of years has been considerably above both (i) his current perch and (ii) the level of opposition he meets of the morrow. That above form, incidentally, saw him finish a very close 2nd in the valuable ‘Brighton Mile Challenge Trophy’ off 77 and 68, in '15 and '16, respectively. Recent history shows that he ‘peaks’ at this time of year and loves the venue – as well as those pair of runners-up efforts Pick A Little is also a 4 time winner at Brighton.

Pick A Little will tomorrow race off just 62 his lowest perch since May 2015 when, coincidentally, he won over tomorrow’s course and distance. And although he is now a 9YO his last couple of runs have hinted that the ability still remains and at any rate the perchings reduction will certainly help him. As will the drop to class 6 company. He hasn’t ran in this grade since the above mentioned May 2015 race and those 2 runs in the ‘Brighton Mile Challenge Trophy’ were in much more loftier class 4 company.

I would expect Pick A Little to be underestimated by the dear old punters tomorrow but as he has several ‘pluses’ against his name can see him going very close at decent, I say decent, odds, comrades.

Good luck, troops.

Yep, just touched off by old boy Mr Lightyere who certainly went to infinity and beyond yesterday – the pair 2.75 lengths clear of the 3rd. I didn’t break into song upon hearing the result but my initial thought was most deffo, ‘what a difference a day makes’! Pick A Little ran a race full of credit though at the meeting for the third year in succession.

I would imagine though that life will be tougher for both animals next time out as the handicapper likely to hit the pair of them giving how far clear they were.
