I wish I was heading up to Bury. But a lack of money deemed otherwise. So, instead, I shall make do with a trip to the superstore and console myself with the lovely new black Charlton body-warmer. Then a walk around the Maritime Museum where I shall await confirmation of our impending three points. A glorious drive back to N9 will follow and a scrummy home-made lasagne and chips to top it all off. But I refuse to watch the bleedin' X Factor. What are you guys up to, then?
Watching the athletics at the moment, will listen to the footie from 3, may go to mass at 6.30 home watch a sweeney episode or 2 this evening have a chinese a few beers and a snooze, wake up for MOTD doze off during it and wake up in the chair about 2 go to bed get up at 5 watch the rest of MOTD and the football league show (as long as we don`t lose). Thats me sorted
I'm gonna continue my day of rediscovering Oasis and styling my hair like Liam circa 2008, before getting my Gabby Logan/Charlton fix on Final Score. Football really doesn't matter to me since we dropped the leagues - I'm not a really football fan, Just a Charlton follower. I think Pulp are being shown live on BBC3 tonight at 9, so that then MOTD.
I bow to your comphrehensive knowledge of egg-based accoutrements, AllHell. It is Hellmann's all the way!
I haven't AH, but it's something that will now be investigated. I love anything spicy- i put Tabasco on everything!
What about those West Indian Encona hot-pepper sauces? They go beautifully when drizzled upon cheese on toast.
Just taken a trip to the monthly CD Fair at Tewks Town Hall - Sarah Maclachlan Remix album for £3 and Django Reinhardt's 'Djangology' for £2.50 to replace my dodgy tape. Also Carry on Screaming and Carry On Up the Khyber for £1.50 each and Inglour...etc. for £2. Watching that before MOTD tonight. Went to the Tewks Hospital Fete, I've had two ops there and it's a priceless asset - they've announced plans to expand it (yes, you heard right) and the plans were on show for the first time. Quick shower now after 10k on my bike, then commentaries and the laptop on text for our game while I cook and freeze this afternoon. Lamb Tajine, Beef Rendang and a fierce Chili coming up. Nice bottle of white fizzy cooling down to celebrate us going back top...
Played Nuages as soon as I got in, FHB - one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard. If you like guitar music in this vein, check out Biréli Lagrène and Stochelo Rosenberg as well - saw them at the annual Festival de Jazz Django Reinhardt at Samois-sur-Seine about 15 years ago. Breathtaking.
Nuages- I couldn't agree more. I had the pleasure of hacking my way through it at a local jazz club as a duet with Dave Moses, a bass player who accompanied Stephan Grappelli on one of his last tours. I'd love to go to that Festival and was talking about it last year. Is it easy to book up?
You play? You played with Dave Moses? We are not worthy, FHB... It was easy to book up when I went - you just turned up with a picnic, several bottles of wine and your deck chair and sat down - I think it might be a bit more formal these days.
Priceless. Reminds me of the Friends episode when Phoebe says to Chrissie Hyndes "Can you play a 'D'?"
Thank you, Rifleman. Lasagne and chips is a great combo. I do adore a homemade lasagne but, actually, if time is limited, the Morrisons own brand in the yellow box is surprisingly good. Add your own cheese to the top, though.
