Three weeks today, and it´s fill up the tanks
For a lot of the `Yellow Army´,
As with anticipation and hope in the ranks
They start on their PL journey,
For some it will be the very first time
They´ve been on the Premier League road,
If they missed, when we last had a similar climb
Or when such optimism last flowed
Three weeks today, at about 3 o´clock
The buzzing of nerves will be heard,
As stadiums fill and the fans start to flock
And for some, the memories get stirred,
Arnhem and Munich and Inter Milan
I remember them all to this day,
And who knows, in this league, if things go to plan
Such names may not be far away
Three weeks today, we again take our place
As one of the twenty top teams,
With just as much chance as the rest have, to grace
The millions of SKY tv screens,
A manager, who, like the players he tends
Will relish each and every spree,
And no matter who, it is that he sends
Out to play, a win´s all he can see
Three weeks today, and I know where I´ll be
At around about the appointed hour,
Like thousands of other exiles from ´City´
I´ll be roaring them on with full power,
So bring on the Chelsea´s and Gunners and all
And Man U. and Mancini too,
Wherever it be, they´ll not stop ´On the Ball´
From ringing out both loud and true
For three weeks today, all the travelling starts
For those, oh so indefatigable fans,
Who in their vast numbers have leapt off the charts
In following to all parts of the land,
So hats off to you who find money and time
To come across on the airwaves,
To old folk like me, sat in far foreign climes
