Mark Dixon must feel a bit happier after his jointly owned, filly foal by St Mark's Basilica out of Oaks winner Talent was purchased for 575,000gns at Newmarket today. Shame they had to sell but with an expansion in the number of mares and coverings to be paid it was probably the right decision. That's the top price paid so far at the Sales (in fact 150,000gns more than any other foal so far purchased). Talent is in foal to New Bay and I'm sure they are hoping for a filly they can keep. They do have 2 full-sisters to Talent, Both these mares have foals; one by New Bay and the other by Territories.
On Tuesday Dixon sold a colt foal by Bated Breath from the same family for a meagre 3,000gns.
