Well Snoddy said he wants to see the club show some ambition before he commits himself to the team. This was prior to any takeover talk and investment rumours. I wonder what the tipping point will be for Snoddy, which player or what culmination of players will it take before Snoddy gets his pen out and signs? He must be fairly pleased with Pearce, Dury and Green he probably see's as decent players to do a job like the rest of us but I wonder which player might we get through the training ground gates will tip it for him, could it be something as simple as Clayton and White signing new deals...
The alternative ristac is that it gives these players (White excepted) the chance to sit back and just see what happens. Snoddy and McCormack can just see out their contracts, and by this time next year we will defo have new owners
He's away and probably not taking much interest. But when he returns, well he will see we now have an elderly left back and a very average midfield player, who couldn't get a starting place in one of the worst Irish teams ever to grace a competition. I would suggest he may be unimpressed.
He may be elderly but he is keen and raring to go after all hes only played 33 games over the last 2 seasons, speaks volumes,,,, but he has started his training early, please log in to view this image
Looks like an OAP Wally hooligan threatening someone with his zimmerframe, instead of one of the away clubs seats
I guess with financial backing from new owners NW could always allow him to run his contract down like we did Beckford.
Pearce: Good signing for £400k Green: Good signing and free Drury: Good signing and free As soon as cash is released to Warnock we should see it spent on some quality too, which will demonstrate to Snodds and Ross that we mean business. Lets hope he gets his hands on some cash soon so that Snodds and co stay.
Agreed, the players on the pitch were only good enough for 14th place last season, we don't just need to rebuild the starting 11 but those that we can call on when suspensions, tiredness and injuries strike. Nobody has said Green will start every match, it might be that he impresses a few of us more than we expect.
I think Lonergan is a prime example of this, he'd actually been dropped by a team who were relegated from this division. He certainly looks good enough to be in a half decent team in this league if not ours
I'll be interested to see who else comes in AND who actually leaves. We still haven't lost anyone from the squad yet & it will certainly need to be trimmed by the time the season starts in a few weeks. Hopefully as others have said, we will finally see the takeover happen & serious money come in. Maybe we might even bring Beckford back, one of our former players who wouls till be welcome back at ER.
