So it seems that Leadbitter is away to Portsmouth for c £2m, Priskin may be going on loan to Leeds, and Arsenal are after 15 year "teenage sensation" old Byron Lawrence. Not overly concerned about losing Leadbitter. Wouldn't be worried about losing Priskin as long as we get another striker in and don't rely on Ellington/Scotland as back up. Not impressed that we are potentially letting Lawrence go though. If he is as good as the papers say, shouldn't we be looking to keep him?
The Lawrence story is apparently the same source that said Wickham was off to Arsenal after his Town debut so I wouldn't read too much into it. I would wet myself if Leeds got lumbered with Priskin as well
Leadbitter: I'm happy to see him go but good luck to him - hope he enjoys his time with Norris! Priskin: I'm less happy about. I suspect he wants to appear on the team sheet and he's not going to be a first choice here but he does represent the best we have in the way of cover. As regards Lawrence: lets please hang on to him! We have to get our youth players at least through to our first team for a season surely before we capitalise and let them move on. What's the point of having a great academy if it just becomes a feeder for other clubs?!
Would like to keep the young lad if he's as good as is being said, and I'd quite like to have Priskin still in the side, but recognise a loan move is probably best all round. If we receive a good price for Leadbitter, fine. But failing that, we should keep him on, at the very least just to cover for Bowyer and Andrews.
Lawrence isn't going its terrible journalism. If Leadbitter does go to Pompey for more than £1.5 mill i'll be delighted If Priskin goes on loan to Leeds, fine
