I think we are 3 players off being a possible championship winning side. The 3 players that i think could make all the difference are Stearman or Gorkks, Bullard and SEB. What 3 players would you like to see that would put us up there with the likes of Leicester? Please only choose realistic players!!
Bullard? Christ, why not Gio why we're about it?! All this talk is nonsense really. Bullard is no longer a realistic target. That is until the last couple of days leading up to deadline day (if he's still at Hull) But either way he's 32 and the sun does not shine out of his backside. We all need to move on. Stearman and/or Gorkks would be alright, though I remember seeing Gorkks have an absolute Howler last season. Personally I'd like us to finally sign Treacey and get a decent young player on loan someone like Kyle Bartley (Defender) from Arsenal or Craig Eastmond (Defensive Mid) again from Arsenal. I fancy PJ will be looking to the loan market as honestly there isn't a massive amount of quality about in terms of realistic targets.
It would take more than 3 players to put us into the chase for automatic spots, unless they were Messi, Ronaldo and Xavi. But still i thing we need a creatve in Midfeild (Bullard maybe? of Whittingham?), and two defenders ( Stearman possibly, no idea about the other one). I'd only go for SEB if we could get rid of Scotland or Priskin. That should get us in and around the play-offs.
We could get Bullard if Hull get desperate and do a loan deal like last time, but I do see your point. A permanent deal would be unlikely.
I believe Cody McDonald has been transfer listed by Norwich. ok he has not actually played at the Championship level before but was a goal machine for the Gills last season on his season long loan. Might be worth a punt?
Quite a random one, but he had a very decent season at Hearts - Rudi Skacel? I'm not sure where he would fit in now to be honest though, seems to be very versatile. I remember when we tried to get him from Saints as a left back/midfield, a bit similar to Andrew Surman. Scored plenty of decent goals last season too. What's this about Campbell Warky???
Sol Campbell? That would really be scraping the barrel. Maybe more useful as a coach than a player now.
I think we need at least 5 more players to be in with a realistic chance of winning the league, 2 CB's, 1 RB a winger, at least 1 more CM and possibly another striker more of a hold up player. But if we were to get all these players along with the current batch thats means we have a completely new team which would take time to gel. So basically I don't think we can make the top of the league this year. I like the idea of Stearman, Bullard, Treacy and Hulse.
