    Off life.

Inspired by @HarryTipper and his incapability to swom, which he wants to rectify. good on him.

What are other fundamental things in life, some which may have been forgotten.

Guess these days, computer skills are a must, but its hardly life important.

Swimming is a must, unless you live on top off a mountain.

Math is a must )not the manc ggmp)

    Roadsense is vital.

    Knew I shouldn't have posted that <laugh>

Cooking. I'm not on about Michelin star level cooking, just the basics.
I know several people who can't even make a simple omelette, these people are in their 40's o_O

Is that worse than my shameful admission? Probably not.

I get the backstroke thing as I like to see where I’m going, I find it disorientating and never mastered the backward flip at lengths end.
Other fundamentals are common sense, awareness and the ability to learn from mistakes, master those three and you’ll won’t need nothing else.

It's amazing how many grown adults can't drive. Maybe that won't matter in a few years as the cars will drive themselves, but just knowing that if you wanted too you could drive straight past work and keep going til you got somewhere you've never been - surely that's a necessity for staying sane?

    True dat!

I learnt in my single years. Had to really, it was that or takeaways. Plus I had two hungry teenagers to feed. I won’t include the ****e we used to ‘cook’ as students!

I figured if you can read you should be able to learn to cook. So I bought a couple of books and nowadays, whilst no ****ing Michel Roux, I ain’t a bad cook.

There’s a load of blokes, especially of my generation, who go from home to marriage. Result is, they can’t cook, iron, or even operate a washing machine. Wife ****s off or dies, and they’re lost.

I had never ironed a shirt, nor did I have a clue how to, til I got divorced at the age of 40. Sunday nights spent wrestling with the ironing board whilst half pissed from the weekend's shenannigans, were a feature of the next few years.

I cook but I refuse to iron.

If I'm ever single I'll get an eastern European to pop in and do my ironing.

<laugh> Maybe I'll ask the two Bulgarian girls in the flat opposite if they fancy doing some housework for me. Mind you, one of them's a junior doctor so I doubt she'll have the time.

We used to have an old gay ex civil servant who ran our local pub some years back. I was talking with a mate at the bar about how ironing shirts is a ****ing nightmare. He then preceded to go and get his ironing board and three shirts and showed everybody how to do it <laugh>

But the old git was spot on, 2 minutes a shirt collar, yoke, sleeves back & sides. <ok>

I'd have been in there every Sunday night with a bag of shirts. Almost the perfect pub.

You do what you got to do init.

I can cook, drive, iron, kill, hustle...whatever needs doing. Fight or flight.....every situation is fight or flight. I fight usually which results in valuable life lessons being picked up on the way.

Yeah **** ironing. Can't stand it. The only thing I will iron is a shirt and then only when absolutely necessary. My Mum still irons my old mans underpants ffs, I remember as a kid she was always ironing and the ironing board was always in front of the TV. I think my aversion to ironing was probably born then.
