In all my 50 years plus of watching & playing the beautiful game, I cant recall seeing anyone with quite the same silky, caressing of ball skills as Glenn Hoddle possessed. Wonderful touch, trapping the ball old fashioned but oh so important skill, twist & turn and stroke it to the feet of AN Other. Or, into empty space flicking the ball 10 yards over the heads of bemused defenders - with a touch of spin to wait for his arrival as he left them like statues!

We wish you well and full recovery Glenn.

And how we could do with a Chairman like Thai Vichai! :emoticon-0102-bigsm What a character and much loved chairman at Leicester. A very difficult week but the Club breathes his soul, his commitment and passion for the game - like one big family. Now that is what a Football Club like Ipswich should be, Mr Evans. A chairman who is at ease mixing with fans, the players and translates his passion and considerable knowledge on to the pitch...with full backing, support & hey ho, money!

Our thoughts to all the Family and what a trip & reception the players will have in Thailand.

Not only was Glenn a wonderful footballer and a decent manager but I can say I enjoy his co-commentary more than any other former player. He has an incredible ability to make you feel as though you’re watching the game with him and watching a match is so much more enjoyable for it. As a pundit his authority and knowledge is second to none, but he does not talk down to less able teams and players but takes joy in the game itself.

Last weekend I have to say I was not able to do much waiting such a long time for news. What a beacon of love and light Vichai was. I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say that Leicester’s title win was one of the most thrilling and entertaining moments in the history of the game. Such a tragic end to a modern fairytale.

The contrast with hide and seek Evans has been laid bare but let’s not take for granted that even in our darkest moments on the pitch we have never had to witness such a horrific event at Portman Road.
