...before the binners start droning on about it. Turncoat!! http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/26045/
We had Charlie Sheringham (son of Teddy) on trial once as well... Now very much a stalwart of non league
We had Ruud Gullit and Paul Gascoigne on trial. If this lad is any good then he will get his chance to shine just like anyone else irrespective of his father's former connections.
I'm sure you can attract plenty of players with your category 2 status, though the whether they're any good or not is another matter entirely.
capped all the way to u17 level for wales, worth a trial at the very least. All I know is that this armageddon that the same old people were predicting about us falling to the wayside has once again turned out to be a huge crock of ****!
Kieron Dyer apparently spoke to his old man about the facilities we had to offer and after his lad had been shown around the place he signed straight away. Make of that what you will.
As I've said before which Cat makes next to no difference it's about the coaches and atmosphere around the acadamy that matter most...imo.
I hope not Guru.....I have fun telling them every time it's appropriate.....and sometimes when it's not...
He's been capped by Wales up to U17 so he must have something about him. If he does well in the trial and he gets taken on then we might have picked up a little gem but time will tell. I don't know if your lot were interested but that's irrelevant. Steve Foley who I'm sure you will know was a coach at your academy when Bellamy senior was with you also played a big part in bringing him to Playford Road.
Sensible and interesting post JWM . More of these please. I'd forgotten about Foley - a decent coach by all accounts and I seem to remember a lot of feeling that it was very harsh when we got rid of him.
Don't you remember the fiasco in the Summer when Adams appointed Foley as a coach only for him to come back to us the next day! I've got a lot of time for Steve Foley a proper football man and I'm glad that he's back with us. Foley, Klug, Malcolm Webster and TC, we've got a very strong set of coaches running things these days.
