A number of newspaper reports indicate that we are interested in these two. Brief bio as follows:-

TK: Danish international attacking midfielder, 6ft tall aged 29. Currently on loan from Wolfsburg to a French team and they would be happy to release him. Why? Has 50 club goals in 268 games at .186 per game which translates into 7 PL goals if he repeated that form. In 2011 John Jensen invited him to Blackburn for a trial but nothing came of it. Why? If it transpires that he wasn't good enough for Blackburn, I doubt he'll be good enough for us.

Of course, it might be that he didn't suit their style (brownie point for him) and he looks a very neat and tidy player on the couple of clips I've seen of him. I worry about his quality in the PL though, as there doesn't seem to be a glut of offers coming from the German and French leagues for his services.

TM: Full back who covers CB and midfield at Boro (via academy). Aged 26 and 5ft 11" he has England caps at U16/U17 and U19 levels. He seems to have potential but hasn't realised it yet and has been out on loan to lower division clubs after serious injury. Rated a below average 5/10 on one site I visited. Too short for a CB in my opinion and doesn't really float my boat although Mowbray, a good judge of a footballer, is keen to keep him. Who knows?

On face value I'm a little disappointed, if I'm honest, should these be an indication of the calibre of players that we are looking to sign. I know that we have financial constraints and it might well be that these two, if signed, might be the sort of "low price gems" that we can develop into valuable players for us. But......

Whatever, ML now has the job of assessing such matters and I'm quite happy to trust his judgement.
