So apart from our massive match we have some real six pointers this weekend with the Manchester derby and Everton playing Spurs on Sunday. First though we have a relegation battle at Wigan tomorrow with QPR looking for their first win. A draw would probably suit us best in that one. We could also do with an away win for Chelsea at Sunderland. Predictions?
Whilst any draw would be good...prefer they don't improve their goals scored. I am watching every eventuality
Other matches? Hadn't really thought about that. Thanks for reminding me that there's a football world beyond Saints at the weekend. I'd expect Wigan to beat QPR quite comfortably. Chelsea will beat Sunderland 1-0 (Torres), and Stoke will get a draw at Villa. Swansea vs Norwich looks the pick of the other fixtures, although I suppose all eyes (in Asia) will be on the Manc derby.
Not strictly about the other weekend fixtures but... 'Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole has been ruled out for two months with a knee injury' Would prefer Fletcher out with injury but every little helps
True enough. They have a few dirty players at Sunderland...and worryingly a few ex saints and we all know what that means.
Do Saints players ever score against their old teams? If players do come back to haunt their old teams, is there a time limit?
Billy scored against Doncaster. I think Chaplow might have scored against Peterborough too. There must be others, but it doesn't seem to happen as much for us as it does against us Dyer, Bale and Walcott have all scored past us this season so the time limit must not apply to us. We are so hard done by
Most of Wigan's defence is either injured or suspended. I think QPR will win this one and then the media loves Harry circus can really kick on.
Still too early to know the best results for us...would like at least two teams to begin to be adrift, then we only have to worry about one position. Don't want too many in the mix, so that a couple of bad weekends see us bottom.
I just feel we need to move away from third bottom, and Wigan look the weakest team not in the relegation zone to me. Know what you mean though, be good if Qpr just give up. Then 'Arry can just blame all the resources at hios disposal & say it was an imposible task anyway- while fishing for a better job.
I think QPR will win. Wigan are completely ravaged by injuries, all QPR need to do is take their chances.
Down in the Championship (remember that?), Blackburn just lost 4-1 to Cardiff, Henning Berg has one win in his first eight games now, against bottom of the table Peterborough. The other two relegated clubs are 17th and 18th.
