Well when window closed I said we're going to be in trouble defensively. Brown is struggling and Coates is almost certainly out for a while. That leaves us two senior centerbacks fit for this weekend or risk losing Brown long term. Coates is a tricky one http://rokerreport.sbnation.com/2014/9/30/6871781/sunderland-liverpool-injury-news-coates. Looks like Rodwell will be called upon to play CB sooner or later. Long time till January.
tbf though, you're defense seems sound so far, i mean drawn 5 lost 1... it's just your ability to score goals, that's a pretty crazy record sorry for taking over the thead
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLD679ErYOU i know im gonna get s**t... but my f**ing sister... her bf stops her seeing her friends.. she does f** all.. if i try anything.. im seen as the bad guy...i wanna kill her bf mate,,, but i respect my maw... , he stops her, seeing her mother... he stops her seeing her friends.. but if i get involved, i wanna kill him, what should i do? i cant touch the guy, cause im seen as the bad guy :/
We haven't exactly been getting hammered at the back so far, it's up front where we will struggle most. I think Mannone had 1 save to make against Swansea.
I don't know what to say fella except that the more you protest the more you push her away. It's her life and she'll dig her heels and live here life her way. All you can do is let her get on with it but be a good brother and support her when it goes tits up. I agree but Browns knocks can turn into months sidelined as we know, Coates could be out for months as his injury is a mystery and he can even battle attackers. Vergini has had one good game at centre back and O'shea is prone to losing concentration. With our attacking problems, if something happens with our defence like another injury or a loss of form then we'll be looking like the mags. We've got 14 games before we can bring in another defender, a long time. If Billy Jones gets crocked, and lets face it he's prone to it we are ****ed.
There is always our U21 players, Harrison springs to mind, that would not let us down until injuries are sorted, not ideal but the same defence as last week would suit me, having said that I think Stoke looked pretty good on the break against the Mags. I hate to say it but moaner Hughes seems to be doing a good job there and its another tough game coming our way, so come on lads get those three points we deserved against the Swans, and lets see us climb that table.
Hear what you're saying mate and I agree but up until now we've been pretty solid at the back. OK, Brown's injury is a worry but I recall Gus saying prior to the Swansea match that he was hopeful to have him back for that game, my guess is he didn't want to risk it. Gus has managed to keep Brown fit since he arrived mind, unlike both Bruce and MON when he was crocked constantly, maybe we manage his fragility in a better way now. It is a worry though as we are light at both ends of the pitch.
I agree but it's not my point. We won't even have a senior defender on the bench. We have the same amount of strikers fit this weekend, we play one up front and 4 at the back. Gus needs to be ramming this down Congerton and Short's throat. We need JoS' long term replacement in in Januray no excuses, not a loan, but a long term investment who can contribute immediately, then some fullback cover. If we're lucky, by the time January comes Injuries won't have forced us into the relegation zone.
According to Poyet on SAFsee today, Brown is fit for tomorrow. He was sort of ready for the Swansea game but it was touch and go and with Jones fit, Gus played Vergini in the middle as a safety precaution.
My defence for this weekend is ........ ........ that we struggled to get away from the ground due to heavy traffic, were kept waiting at the Wetherby Whaler because of a fire in the chip frying department and were kettled in the Royal Oak, Edwinstowe when there was a police raid looking for illegal immigrants. If our lass accepts that as a defence I may get away with a £60 fine, over lunch tomorrow, and a suspended sentence until the next match
