............ We would of been at the Memorial Stadium for 20 years. Can't believe it's been that long. Also this means we would of departed Eastville 30 years ago.
This time next year we could be preparing for life in the conference again. Or maybe league 1. We have a 6 in 24 chance of leaving league 2 meaning a 18 in 24 chance of staying in league 2.
I have fantastc memories of Eastville but unfortunately I cannot say the same of Trumpton, an embarrasing dump with an unlevel playing surface, I use to hate going over there.
Haha yes - I don't know anything different from the mem though, as I am not as old as some of you old gits
A dump!!!!! Maybe But we wouldn't have a team today if it wasn't for them plus wasn't twerton the last place we won a league title.
Looking back now, Twerton was a dump but at the time being a kid, I loved it. Its where my parents allowed to watch Rovers so it was where it all began for me. Like that 1st kiss or where you lost your virginity, something you cant forget and something grateful to be apart of . I stood in the poplar stand at the front by the half way line, had a great view in the small gap between the bar and the wall. It was also where I got to work for Rovers too as a ballboy for the last couple of seasons that we played there. Before being a ballboy I use to help Ray Kendall hang the kit up and get all the football boots out of a massive metal container and then match them up. They had the players initials in them. I was always given a free program for it for payment. Was great fun. Lots of memories.
I also stood under that bar but when I got older and had my own season ticket me and my mate stood behind the goal next to the away end I did go to Eastville but I can barely remember it.
