Around this time last year I was in the wilds of Scotland .. where it was cold icy and a little bit of the 31cms of snow [ about 10cms ] dumped there 2 weeks previously was mainly responsible for the 2" thick layer of ice that covered most parts of the routes up and down the mountain ! So far from the nearest points of "media", that the 5-0 loss to AVila I did not pick up on till about the 3rd /4th January ...... when close to ULLAPOOL I got a signal that would allow access to the internet on my phone! This year I am back in boring old civilisation ! bombarded with streams of repeated news feeds, corny TV programmes, excepting the Christmas lectures always a good watch, .... a warm cosy house, as opposed to a 2 man sleeper tent perched on a rock ledge 1000m up a mountain in -15c, [only joking about the last bit, it was a 3 man at 300m, still only joking it was a hut with wood burner and electric quite cosy if you burned coal!] and of course here lazing around with lashings of unhealthy food like chocolate and cake and puddings and.... How does your last year compare to this?
