At almost the same point last season City were one from bottom, this season one from the top.
Teams relegated were all in the bottom 8
Teams promoted were mostly in the top 6 for the past 5 years ( Yeovil 10th and Millwall 8th only 2 exceptions)

City can lose 4 and draw 2 without falling from top 6! but Sheff utd would need to win 5 !

    BOOKIES
    City 11/10 to win it

stake £500 and the bookies will pay you £1 CITY FINISH IN TOP 6

The current top 4 are all odds on to be vying for promotion
City 1/4 Swindlers 4/7 MKD 4/6 PNE 6/4 (Sheff 10/1 Oldham 14/1 best of the rest)

Interesting that 3 of the bottom 4 got out of trouble in the end

The ideal situation on a week to week basis is to ensure that on Sunday you are in a position whereby the 3rd place team cannot overtake you even if you lose your next 2 games. The best way to achieve that scenario is to keep winning and forget about the rest.

Cotts, by his words, knows that fact.

yes and Cotts also knows that a team not under pressure is likely to play better.. however there are 2 feet and the other foot will be saying don't get complacent with the points advantage we have, until with 5 games to go we are 16 points safe!

If it wasn't for what happened to Leyton Orient last year, I think we would all be a bit more comfortable. But seeing a team stretch a big lead, get pegged back, and then eventually fail to even go up through the play-offs is a salutary tale for us all.

Also not wishing to be pedantic, but Preston 6/4 is not odds-on.

It was disappointing that Sheffield United couldn't take points off MK Dons. If they were 9 points back I would be a lot happier. Lets hope the Blades can beat Swindon on Saturday 31st. If they do, we could go top again without actually playing a game. :)

correct 6/4 is not odds on, but as an expression of meaning ( promotion) in the context they are, the next team 5th 10/1 is potentially 15 points behind
