Belgian outlet HLN this morning reporting #nufc have had a bid accepted for Anderlecht striker Isaac Kiese Thelin. Report Lokomotiv Moscow have too. Thelin is a Sweden international, he's 26. Bid is reported to be €6m.

That’s why we signed Thelin in the first place. Our former sporting director Van Holsbeeck once said: “He isn’t an Anderlecht player, but one day I might sell him for a profit.” Given the situation w/ Ashley, you need better than this. Don’t think he’s good enough for the Prem.

I really don't want to write someone off before giving them a chance and hopefully he will be the answer.

Free dor nearly had me yesterday with the fact we have to make space in the squad before we can buy as Rafa has bought too many poor players. You can't just load up on more players than you can register for a squad..... Fair enough.
How have we found room to get this fella? More importantly if we have room for another forward why are we not using the money made this window, the money the club has received in TV rights and the leftover January budget to get a proven striker?

If he turns out to be another Jos then we are stuck with him, wasted another squad place and hinder our chances of signing someone else. If the fat man released proper funds to buy a proper player then this wouldn't be a problem.... Or at least less of a gamble

 

This has scary echos of the Xisco signing.

Wonder if it'll have the same effect on Rafa as on Keegan? Rafa ain't happy now, and if this does happen it'll push him over the edge.

 

If he's the answer, what on earth is the question?

It's never nice to write a player off before he kicks a ball, but when he's rated at £2.7million, i'd rather play Arma. He could be that one player that makes a huge splash in the league, we've seen them time and time again, fingers crossed.

Aside from a lower leagues loan last season the guy had scored 17 goals in 135 appearances in the previous 7 years - that's worse than any of our current forwards and we're talking about the swedish and dutch leagues here.

For Sweden he was an unused sub in a team consisting of the likes of Seb Larsson, Ola Toivonen and Classen - all of whom have struggled in the Premiership and you have to assume he's worse than those. He's not even young (26).

I don't get it at all. Genuinely looks like a poor mans Joselu and feels like the last name on any list. It's all very good blaming Rafa but it's safe to say his first choices, second choices and probably 3'rd, 4th choices have not been purchased...

 

Think we're on to choice 21 with this one.
If I were Benitez I'd be thinking "**** this, everyone's just going to forget I wanted 20 other players and question my judgement all season like they did with Joselu"

I do I'm a big believer of supporting the club and its employees. Unlike most on here it seems.

 

No the key point is he is on there. If he doesn't want him he shouldn't be on there.

 

Can you PM me a copy of the list so I can confirm this. Obviously dont post it on here as we dont want other clubs seeing it.

Also while you are at it if you have the document signed by Rafa saying he is happy or at least accepts this supposed one-in/one-out condition that would be good.
